@@gegenpress1695yeah sure Arteta beat them. Doesn’t mean he’s necessarily a better manager. Ole beat Pep’s City’s team fairly regularly as well. It wasn't even Arteta's team that won it either. They finished 8th the next two seasons after that. Just a new manager bounce. Even now Arsenal in my opinion are VERY overrated. The statement that they "came close" last season is even an overstatement. City wrote off their last two league games because the league was already won and they had a Champions League Final coming up. They still won by 5 points. If they took those last two games seriously they would have won the league by 11 points and nobody would be saying it was close.

Literally this comment means nothing. Ange became a manager back in the year 2000 and Arteta became a manager in 2019. 19 more years to win trophies, what a stupid analysis 😂… oh and heads up the FA Cup is worth more than any of those previous trophies in terms of overall quality, history and relevancy.

Yeah I’m an Aussie Arsenal fan and what Ange did in Brisbane (compared to every other manager that’s come in from Germany and Holland) was ridiculous. He had them absolute levels above every team in the league (working under the same constraints). It was the most remarkable display this domestic league has ever seen. He also took a very average Socceroos team to winning a continental comp. That’s not to say he’ll be successful at Spurs (because it’s still spurs) but the guy is legit.

Madison i'd say is a sure starter over Havertz, so thats one guaranteed. It's harsh on Bissouma because everyone (Miles included if you watch Filthy Fellas) agree he's an unbelievable player. But right now he's behind both Partey and Rice, there's no debate there. But he has the quality and ability to reach their levels for sure. You don't need to be open minded when one team is leaps and bounds ahead of the other. Would you expect City fan to compare their team with Spurs? How many Spurs players would get into the City team? The same team Arsenal almost surpassed in the league last season? Spurs are playing good football and this season they will prove a lot of people wrong for sure, but they are competing for top 4 (5 now) while Arsenal are looking for a title.

Completely correct not to discredit Ange achievement in "lesser league" such as with his time with Brisbane Roar. While the EPL has its own unique challenge such as more pressure and dealing with ego of famous players, and dealing with the elite coaches of the game, it's far more easier implementing an attacking football style in the EPL then in the A-league Have you noted that the further levels that Ange has progressed the quicker he has in implementing his style of football. Ange's Brisbane roar first season second bottom, Yokohamas first season battling relegation, Celtic struggled in the early 6 or so games. Tottenham immediately undefeated so far. Dealing with higher quality players there is no barrier in convincing them that they are capable of playing attacking football. You don't need to convince James Maddison that he has the ability to play attacking football. He knows he is capable of that. While in Brisbane Roar there was a nation wide culturally inferiority complex that attacking possession football is what happens overseas and that Australia does not have the skills or ability to dominate possession and games. Australia football players win games by being physical, working hard and showing "fighting spirit" not with possession, passing football and attempting to dominating games. Ange view was completely radical and revolutionary in Australia that our players are just as capable of playing possession football, he will show footage of peak Barcelona dismantling Real Madrid and said that was the standard to aim for and people thought he was naïve and quite frankly insane. This is the reason why it took a long time for the players to adapt as he has to challenge cultural inferiority complex, kick out senior players who didn’t believe that Australian players had the technical ability and build confidence to players who never played this way before and encourage them that they are good enough to play that style and quite frankly reverse lifelong cultural entrenched brainwashing telling them they aren’t good enough. He didn't have the reputation of a foreign superstar coach (and in fact was considered a joke after the Craig Foster interview) to help him convince the player. The fact that he was able to succeed and today is still considered the greatest A-league side of all time is a miracle. So when he arrive at Tottenham, this is quite frankly much more easy to get the buy in from players to convince elite players they are capable of dominating games and playing attacking football and we are seeing this with the quality start of the season.

However context is king, it was the way he won the league titles that mark him as a coaching virtuoso not just the league title. IMO he was ready for EPL after he success at Brisbane Roar he just needed someone to give him the opportunity. Even Kevin Muscat who is now succeeding in Japan and has succeeded in Australia with attacking football has questions marks, as he has proven he was able to continue Ange success but has not proven to implement a style via revamping/rebuilding the squad

This is a great format, with Buvey as a mediator tho, it would be legendary.

The things these kids miss is that, we didn't suddenly call Wenger a world class manager after we started playing good in his first few games.... We started calling him the professor after the stints he did at Arsenal not because of what he did elsewhere..

Being an Arsenal fan. Even though we won trophies, Spurs had the better team, going into UCL final is a massive achievement in recent history even though it won't count or remembered.

Saying that though as a spurs fan we got lucky to get that far. We should have been knocked out three times in that run. Barcelona during groups, Man City and then Ajax. The thing about spurs is we always have hope because we are good enough to do it but can never finish the task.

Its trophies mate!! Man utd are piss poor right now but it doesnt take away the glory they have achieved. Spurs had glimpses of best but got derailed. Arsenal in their worse were able to get trophies.

Tottenham over the last 10 years were basically Arsenal during the late 2000s into early 2010s when it was RVP dragging the team to top four. That was Spurs and Kane. The first question is a bit awkward because Spurs were probably the better team over the last decade, that's why they finished above Arsenal 6 out of the 10 times compared to Arsenals 4, but I would expect 99% of Spurs fans would rather have the 4 FA Cups and 5 Community Shield wins in that time. United fans (Adam included) were saying they had a better season than Arsenal last year because they won a Carabao Cup - so, with that logic, only one winner when you look at 4 major honours compared to 0, or 9 compared to 0 if you wanna do the Sir Alex and include Community Shields. Also let's clear this up with this whole "Celtic are a big club because they won a European Cup in the 60s". Back then the format was a knockout format from the start, no groups. They played Zurich, Nantes, Vojvodina and Dukla Prague before facing Inter in the final. Celtic have never topped a CL group since the group stage was introduced and have only made it out of the group twice. They aren't this European royalty that people give them credit for.

sorry to correct u because u make good points but Celtic made it out of the group stage 3 times, in 2006, 2007 and 2012, but nonetheless your point of celtic winning it in the 60's is true that there was no group stage. That's why i get mad whenever anyone says Forest have more UCL's then us but during that time it was easier to win because of less teams, we went through many matches to win our first UCL

Why can’t Adam just not show a bias. Every single piece of content he puts out he’s never ever impartial. He backs up tottenham countless times, anything to spite arsenal such a petty dude.

What's the point in having a debate if you're just going to disrespect Spurs? And let the cocky arsenal geezer talk over Flav when he's making valid points.

Flav is so biased and doesn’t even try to hide it. Puts Pedro Porro at rb over Ben White purely because White isn’t a natural rb but then proceeds to put Son who isn’t a natural striker at striker. Plus putting in Udogie and Bissouma after 5 games is absolute insanity. You can’t even use the argument of I’m just going off based what I’ve seen of him in the prem with Bissouma cause he’s already been there a season and was bang average. Son and Maddison are the only ones that get in until the Likes of Udogie and Bissouma do it for a lot more than 5 games. Plus “Bissouma is the best defensive midfielder in the Prem” might be one of the most horrendous takes I’ve ever heard in my life
