Can Trials Riding IMPROVE Your MX Skills?

It's no coincidence that some of the worlds best dirt bike riders come from a trials riding background. Guys like Billy Bolt and Johnny Walker cut their teeth on trials bikes before becoming certified Dirt Bike gods. So with that in mind we travelled up to Inch Perfect Trials in Lancashire to find out exactly how Trials riding can improve your motocross skills!

100% it can. I ride a style between motocross and trails called Enduro. It's a wild ride and ever time is a learning experience. Often starts with a wake up crash lol Thanks for posting, love your videos!! 🔥💪

Here is one Good example Max - =Jason Rennie, the UKs indoor jump champion who beat Evels indoor 28 yr old jump record in Milenium stadium in 2004- He was previously a Welsh Jnr Expert Trials before he bought an '87 500 and went Mx. His A.M.C.A number was 253 - the same distance he jumped over a couple of artic's and fridge trailers - Lengthways- on a Shropshire airfield. He also did the longest Two up jump with his girlfriend on the back, Scary, but he had amazing throttle control in the air, must have come from trials. Great video Max, great insight into trails riding, beautifully shot, how about trying an electric MX bike on a track and compare to a two stroke and four stroke.

Hi max guys lovely ive loved trails since the early 70 twinshock then bud haha looks lots of fun but my first love is evo motocross vmxdn 2 strokes races old fourstrokes 2 smokers etc look forward to next vlog ohh be carefull no foot dabs heee it helps with techniqe etc i think when u get to mx track tend think more about lines on track etc

I would have to agree Dave. Growing up only riding MX i was always amazed at how skilful my friends that also rode trials were. It provides such as great base level of bike control

If you watch big billy bolt. I’m willing to bet he can keep up with all the big boys on an mx track and he comes from a trials background. I’m gonna get a little put put trials bike after Christmas hopefully to make me a bit better on the mx bike.

Roger DeCoster and Jean-Michel Bayle were trials champs before racing MX. Look it up. I have to say that I would not get the impression that trials could benefit you from this vid. You guys really did no trials riding at all. At least not on-camera.
