Can we fit trekking, wild camping and wild swimming into 3 days in the French Pyrenees?

Summer. A spare 5 days. Something very different. A train journey that takes us the length of France and straight into the heart of the Hautes Pyrenees. We fit in a tour of a town renowned for miracles, stay in mountain refuges, swim in waterfalls and crystal clear plunge pools. We sweat up steep climbs and camp on rocky end-of-the-world perches. We have visits from chamois and drink cold beer under a hot sun. Then back onto the train home sore and tired, but with a shot of adrenaline from having been able to do such incredible things.
This is more of a highlights reel than a true travelogue, but the real point of this film is to showcase the incredible landscape of the French Pyrenees. It often feels that someone has CGI'ed the background onto your day - it is difficult to believe you are really there and that it really does look like that.
A five day trip from Paris started with a TGV down to Lourdes. A short bus trip to Cauterets landed us at the gateway to the Hautes Pyrenees and a night at the Refuge du Clot.
We then set off on three day camping, trekking and swimming trip, passing the beautiful Lac de Gaube and its hourglass reflection, the glaciers of Vignemale, which is the highest peak in the French Pyrenees and the crystal clear waters of Lac d'Arratille and it's many waterfalls and rivers. We even crossed the border into Spain!
All very do-able in a short trip and quite unbelievable. I hope you enjoy the film.
