Scolding Frankie for not minding is the best. He was determined to not mind you…..😂. How can it get any better. The way you are harvesting your olives is 💯✔️you two. How many producing trees do you have? Whatever…all I see are two caring people who want to do the best for their land/trees. Just think what those smaller trees will produce in 20/25 yrs., from now.❤

It was really interesting to see the end results after having seen you doing all that pruning earlier - didn't those trees do well that had been cut back in the May 2023?? It was definitely worth experimenting to see what works best for you. The harvesting was a lot of hard work, but it really paid off in the long run, and I was so glad for you, to have achieved your end target, of being able to call your yield "EXTRA Virgil Olive Oil"! As others have said, it is also good to see expats joining together to help each other achieve the best results. In addition, it is always good to see the pets enjoying their best life!! Wendy from London, UK

When you do a rough cut you leave little new growth. Olives fruit on the growth of last year only. So a rough cut results in less kilofor at least a year, but the fruits growing bigger as well. Good for table olives😉

Congrats on a great harvest! Your olives look great! I love the calm steadiness with which you approach work. We use the tree tickler 😂 We are harvesting for at least a couple of months and without the ticklers it would take forever. But doing it by hand is much more enjoyable. I am quite jealous of the lush green olive groves, we are having a really dry fall. I seem to recall a year when you had a dry and hot fall, when you were planting the Linden trees, and we had lots of rain. Now it’s the other way around. 💦🌿 Greetings from Greece 🇬🇷❤

Congratulations on your olive harvest and the final results, great work. Ewan pruning those two large trees 18 months ago absolutely yielded a huge quantity of olives this year.
@joeeigo9820Ай бұрын
Great job! Handpicking might be slower but is most efficient with the hand rake for heights you can reach. Careful harvesting results definitely in lower acidity. It's said you need to press the olives within 24 hours to get the best oil. Just that isn't feasible, as you can't pick sufficient amounts within 1 day as a couple. We worked 4.5days for a batch, and still got 0.3 acidity. I think the most important thing is to keep the fruits integrity, don't step on the fruits and remove as much leaves before putting them in the basket.
@busybeaver793Ай бұрын

Well done with the olive picking hard laborious job but you have liquid gold at the end 👍 Frankie & Diego are such fun to watch can you introduce the cats please You have probably done that before but I must have missed it . I love your little white one
@NeilhunyАй бұрын
They did quite a tough test a year or two back - name ALL the animals they have, which included the hens.... I think there were 25 names to get. (With hindsight, that may have been a test only on Patreon) White cat = Albi Black cat = João Tabby = Simao Diogo/Dodo and Frankie need no introduction though we could add that Diogo is a Podengo or Portuguese hunting dog, Frankie is a Sausage dog or Dachshund Hens names ... pretty sure that there's a Ronaldo, and if you pick a Liverpool FC player you will probably get others ...

Way to go guys - nothing like your own olive oil pressing although we could definitely give you a tip on the Lagar and would love to show you the difference a few machines can make. Most of all, enjoy it, we use it everyday and not just for cooking - the romans, Mycenaeans and Egyptians have been using it for skin care, soaps and a plethora of other applications for thousands of years.Three of us worked for 3 days and got 1.2 tonnes but we missed the late harvest due to the weather. Be great to catch up soon.
