Make sure you seal up the OSB on the outside. Too much moisture will eventually cause the bond between the glue and wood fibers to deteriorate and cause it to swell, especially around the edges.

Shout out to Waterdrop! When the FOGgies first mentioned Waterdrop, I bought a countertop "Waterdrop A1" that both heats water to boiling point (OK, 95C) and at various points in between there and ambient temp, or cools water to 4C. They are great, and have really great customer service; I am delighted with it.

I love a good thunderstorm 😊 I was a young girl when we had the massive drought in 1976 in the UK. Dad and I sat on garden chairs and watched a huge thunderstorm break the drought over Dartmoor National Park - magnificent! 😉 Well done on getting your car back and putting the door on👍
@NeilhunyАй бұрын
What a year that was in the UK! I saw forest fires (small forest, big fires) and was startled by how extremely fast it burned new trees and the extraordinary heat coming off it, even from 100 yds away. The various waterboards said it would take all winter to top up the reservoirs again but we had a massive amount of rain very quickly once the drought ended

Great to see that you've now got the door fitted and you have some security on your building. And you now have a nice view out over your land, as well as allowing some light into the Cabin. Can I suggest that you get some capping to go on the edging of your roof before too much more cold precipitation arrives..?? You don't want to get the foam too damp. Now that you've achieved this, you can concentrate on the interior of the cabin more.

Yes, use shims or wedges. Typically you would put them in where you are going to screw and screw through them to frame. then trim off after door or window is installed.

Yes I hope they read this and do it otherwise 4 screws through fresh air will not hold the door in place for long 🤞🤞

How come after complaining about the heat this morning I heard “IF IT’S NOT TOO COLD”, I’ve always had a rule, I complain tremendously of the cold, in all my 80 years I have never complained about the heat and I have been living in Italy for the past 55 years and know what 40degree tempuratures are although this year what with the humidity it was hard not complaining but I did it and if I can you can too. 😂😉 Good luck 🍀🍀🍀

Please don’t get me wrong, I’m no expert, but I would be very wary of tiling in a structure that has the potential to move that yours has. I have only ever seen pallet walls used between posts, perhaps I missed where the roof timbers made the walls more rigid. But even so, timber moves, tile adhesive (cement based) doesn’t, so you can end up with cracks and water escaping. We have a stone/mud brick house, with timber floors, and we want a shower enclosure in the bathroom upstairs. so this is something we’ve looked into a lot. There are definitely better options than tiling for waterproofing a shower enclosure in this timber/pallet scenario. I’m thinking sheet products, maybe the plastic stone/marble/tile effect panels, or in rustic situations (indie projects did this) corrugated sheet metal. And of course ventilation is key. For context, we built a pallet shed 2.4 x3.6m and we used 10-12 cm posts in the corners and halfway along the longest walls - once we put the horizontal bracing it was solid. We haven’t even got the roof on yet, rafters + OSB and a light green roof - so I expect that to really hold it together. If we had built with only pallets I would have expected more movement of the structure, how are you finding it?
