Hammock tip: When setting it up, the hammock needs to be straight, parallel to the ground. If its drooping without you in it, its not good, you will sleep like a croissant Make it tight. Also, the bag that it comes in, can be used as a pillow when stuffed with extra clothing.

You've slept in far too many hammocks.
@edbrown98415 ай бұрын
As someone who used to use a hammock instead of a bed, you absolutely don't want to do that! The literal rule of thumb is; If you hold your arm out, point your index finger sideways and stick your thumb up, you want the angle of the straps to go from your finger tip to thumb tip. Then to stop the croissant effect, you lay diagonally and adjust yourself until until you're flat. I still miss sleeping in that ol thing.
@whome48365 ай бұрын
@@edbrown9841 Yes, sleeping diagonally is a solution to drooping, however i like to turn in my sleep, and this will eventually result in me slowly drifting back to the center of the hammock and ending like a proverbial croissant by the morning. Another benefit of setting it up tight and sleeping straight is that i can wrap the hammock around me and this completely shields me from mosquitos and other bugs during the night. For me diagonal is ok for afternoon nap, but for a proper night sleep i set it straight and cocoon myself into the hammock.

Yes, there was car noise and some people walking by, but it was much quieter than this one due to the location and size of it, being 50m wide. I like the idea of finding unusual spots to camp for free during a long road trip (though I've never attempted anything like that myself). And like, using a drone to scout out potential campsites.
