I've put them on tractors, It works, but it really isn't right,. Single frames and 12,500 lbs steering axles aren't really meant for roll offs. It's ok for lighter cans, but if it's full of punchings or something it's not so good. That being said I never broke one. Double frame trucks are hard to find around here, the road salt causes rust jacking and destroys the frame rails. BTW the cylinders for the cable are called "reaving cylinders". Early hoists like an Atlas used a winch on the front and they were slow.

I just wanted to say and u may or may not have already known the reason what this truck had that front mounted pump is cause this truck started its life at either a front loader or rear loader garbage trucks my guess due to it having a front mounted latter like it has was a front loader truck and those have the massive crank mount pumps like this has they can flow a massive amount of fluid some garbage company definitely took the body off and placed a roll off frame onto it

A good "donor" truck would be an old front end truck or a cement mixer truck, already have the double frames and don't scrap the truck just yet, put an ad on multiple sale sites, there are people who will want parts
