The fact that Becky struggled a bit is a "good" thing as it shows reality of thrifting. You save money (and the planet!) but you can not always find what you are looking for or not even a dupe, or you will have to go to like 15 thrift stores... So thank you for NOT editing the part Becky did not find what she was looking for as it keep things real
@KewBlinkla
@KewBlinkla 4 жыл бұрын
Uhhh Becky chose the most niche and specific items, Kelsey chose pretty classic and common pieces... I don’t think it has anything to do with the city size either ^^^ most thrift stores always have different leggings, sweat shirts and white blouses. Coveralls and kimonos on the other hand? You’d be lucky.

I think we can all find a way to agree they are both gorgeous queens with unique style. Different body types are all beautiful. One of the reasons the Sorry Girls channel is so good is that they showcase that in their style videos with flair and an appreciation for the other.

@littlesmew I think it makes for a more interesting video when it doesn't go as planned and they have to work a little harder! Becky is gorgeous and looks amazing in literally every color and style, and I think her style is definitely more interesting and bold than Kelsey! Becky doesn't have model proportions but models aren't donating their clothes to thrift stores much so I don't really get that comment.

I would love to see them do more dying! Including of furniture! But also I just feel like with that fabric bleaching that seems super risky. Like that fabric would fall apart, if trying to get it super light. We also don't know if it was a synthetic material or not.

Kelsey chopping off those covered buttons and bow really broke my heart, cause it all I dream of finding. I see so many of those 2010 tie up blouses, but I can never find the covered button pussy bow eighties lux blouses. I died a little, but Becky's lacy flowy duster up cycle gave me life back. The hunt and hard work to find the good stuff is part of why I enjoy second hand shopping, wether it's thrifting or curated vintage, it's so much more rewarding when you've had to put in effort to get what you want, rather than just being fed the new trends of the month through a fast fashion app. I think you could make a series out of this where you make a shopping wish list and look for stuff on it every time you are out thrifting, vintage shopping and browsing a second hand app, rather than just a one day take. It's much more realistic and will probably result in better matches to the objects you're looking for.

Patriot Jefferson They went to college together and started the channel doing DIY Halloween costumes because they were both interested in costumes but couldn’t find any tutorials at the time. I think that was about 6-ish years ago. They’ve adapted their content as they themselves have changed. For example, they went from little DIY costumes to wedding decor to renovating a home. They’ve previously stated that because they work together most of the time, they socialise and have different groups of friends because it’s important to spend time both together and apart. They have a large TSG team behind them for their videos, such as a Content Manager and Editor and a larger team for their Upgrade My Stay series. Hope this answers some questions.

Then there’s obviously celebrity merch like Ariana Grande, Cardi B did a collab with Fashion Nova, Little Mix released a line. I think you could do so many creative things with all these different clothing and merch types!

Edited: You girls put in so much effort for this. It’s amazing. I would definitely like to see more of these. Also, you girls had it rough with this one and I think you did a super job given what you got. Let’s get to 2(0) million! 💥 Third’s not bad. Posted eight seconds ago and I’m not even first 😆

Kelsey, I think that white blouse you DIYed suits and fits you so well! I might be more fitted than the one you wanted to replicate, but as long as it's comfy you can definetly pull it off!

I love this challenge! I love going onto pinterest and getting ideas for what to find in the thrift stores near me but this is great that you tried it with such expensive/high-end brands! Duping expensive clothes is labor intensive but SO WORTH IT! Great video ladies!

Mega Tipps, danke!!!

Honestly this feels so half assed. A mustard dress is not a black dress. A generic sweatshirt isn't hard to find. The DIYs just look rachet, they show exactly how much they paid for it. What's the point of having a white blouse when you have to give it away? Moreover they chose clothes not according to their preference, but because they think they'll be able to thrift it.
