Becky, when sewing stretchy fabric you should sew with a zig zag stitch. This will give you the stretchy hem you’re looking for without stretching the fabric out of shape.
@carleyr40813 жыл бұрын
Ahh thank you for this!
@bernsky3 жыл бұрын
even better if you use a double needle.
@Penguinandpear3 жыл бұрын
@@bernsky my point is, it’s not necessary. Yes you’ll get better results using a double needle, walking foot or even better a cover stitch machine but for someone like Becky who only alters clothes now and again all the extras are unnecessary. For what Becky was doing, she’d have got a good end result using just a zig zag stitch. For anyone new to sewing this is what I advise, sewing can get expensive real quick and you don’t need most of the extras. This is what I teach beginners on my channnel.

Thank you very much, I was wanting do make the sweater and i have a sewing machine that cannot handle the stretched fabric. I will definitely use this trick

Oh please don't stretch when sewing stretchy fabrics! That's how you get a wavy, stretched out hem. You want to use a zigzag stitch and let the fabric feed through evenly.

Becky, while pulling on the sweater while you're sewing the hem will allow the thread to stretch to that point when you wear it, there's a better way. Usually we use a stretchy stitch when sewing knit fabric, like a zigzag. That will let the hem stretch to the full width of the fabric without breaking. Fun video, keep up the good work.

Priming the bowls with oil before inserting the cement helps with getting them out easier later. Worst-case scenario is that the cement bowl breaks, because you used to much force to get it out or the mold and the bowl can't be separated at all.

I love yall so much. I love this DIY. But every time you say a fabric is "made of sherpa" I cringe so hard. Maybe one day you'll see my comment. Yet again: It's just faux-sheepskin. The Sherpa are an ethnic group. Some of their traditional clothing was the inspiration for the "Sherpa coat/jacket" trend, which used faux sheepskin, and since then there has been increasing confusion about what a Sherpa is. You see now why "made of Sherpa" is weird? That's like saying "This British-style coat is made of British."
