Cacodemon is actually a semantically correct word for "Demons" as we know them. It comes from greek "κακοδαίμων" (kakodaimon) what means "Evil spirit". "Daimon" is a neutral term for "spirits" in greek, they can have any alignment.

This is the same Doom guy that was sent to Mars to fight demons, died and went to hell, fought through hell and returned to Earth just to have the demons invade earth as well (and kill his pet bunny) so he had to do all of it AGAIN and kill the icon of sin. You know what's funny? I'm almost certain that 'Pinky' was a community-made name for them because in classic Doom they were just called 'Demons'. So, it's (more than likely) something the community called them and then later adopted even by the developers and made into their official name.

I just watched another youtuber do a similar run on doom eternal, but his phrasing was 'without shooting a bullet', which let him use the chainsaw, whereas your ruleset of no ammo use allows the pistol but not the chainsaw. I think its pretty cool how two runs with the same general idea behind them can end up so different based on what seems like such a small word choice

Tbf, Eternal's chainsaw regens a fuel cell automatically so it'd count for no ammo. Of course, only the grunts can be chainsawed with just one fuel cell so....

You do realize there is a rune trial that gives you infinite ammo as long as you have over 75 shield and health, right? And based off your logic for the grenades and the second rune trial, it won't count as using ammo because it replenishes INFINITELY. This was just a "can you beat 2016 with only the pistol" challenge.

for no ammo run a lot of ammo was used. Yes i know that the pistol doesn't fire basic ammo and energy gel, also I know its not possible to punch the bosses to death (this run might be called pistol only), but if you think about it the starting pistol is tier 2 uac personal standard weapon how do they load the ammo, I'm pretty sure its not unlimited in the hands of normal worker and I'm sure doom guy can't have the magic gloves to store that much ammo so where does all that ammo load from?

Coming back once more in case this was missed, a cool challenge run idea, “pine resins only”. Grab the least damaging weapon you can, don’t upgrade it, and go through the game with only the damage from the elemental resins.

There are a lot of things that Doom Eternal from 2020 did even better than 2016 already did but there are a couple things that I prefered in the old one and this video reminded me of them The main thing are the animations in 2016 being first person. You get so much more insight into how incredibly mad the Doom Slayer is, whereas Eternal's cutscenes might set up some cooler shots (think the BFG firing a hole into the surface of Mars) but in general the constant first person of 2016 is better
