I remember as a kid being *amazed* at how your basic weapons change visually as you level up, and those changes are based on how you've played. Now I know enough about games to understand it was just some preset parts shared with the unique weapons, and which part you got was randomly chosen from a pool based on mundane things like how many times you'd used a spell. Sometimes I miss the magic of being a kid who didn't know how games work behind the screen.

I enjoyed fable 3. Yeah, it was stupid that you could get the good ending (saving everyone) by just throwing money at the problem...also, you didn't fail. You unlocked a skill, you did not upgrade it. By getting fireball you added another skill that you can't level up (via upgrading)

I remember being amazed at this game as a teen and my best friend playing it after me and going ".... really?" I get what he means now but back in the day it was fun, I didn't try to connect plot points nor was I aware of how to poke holes in some areas that would ruin immersion (fireball on the torch). But then, like a creeping realisation, I had enough, and when after some time I tried to play, I just couldn't do it. It's a giant shame. Seeing the Road to Rule, I remember thinking, surely there's much more path and progression beyond the castle.

If the game forces you to spend a Guild Seal (like getting Fireball) then it should be an exception to the rules of the run. Same with the first spell in Fable 2. Also, there are axes in Fable 3 but they're really just hammers with wedge shaped bits for the hurty part. Edit: I liked the sword called Mr. Stabby. Gain money and evil morality each time you land a hit.

Since you mentioned voice actors, I had a bit of an ideia for a new vegas run, to beat it as Liam o'Brien, you can only use weapons/techniques from characters that he has voiced. Also maybe Yuri Lowenthal since he actually voices the male protag in screams. But yeah everytime since I have found out these 2 voice like 75% of new vegas I cannot unhear it and I can only think about the voice of ben 10 and a league of legends character in the Mohave Bonus points if you the kill people that have the voice of the person you are "using" since there can be only one (includes named and unnamed npcs)

As Christmas looms ever closer, I thought I'd re-comment my suggestion from the Jason Vorhees video. Suggestion for a Christmas special! Can you beat [insert game] as Santa Claus? In a game that has player inventory and droppable items (like a Bethesda game), before you complete the game, you must decide who the "nice" characters are, break into their homes (or the nearest approximation of a home) and leave them a thoughtful gift, without getting caught. Optionally, you could also leave coal (or a coal substitute) behind in the homes of "naughty" characters, and/or consume any milk and cookies (or other consumables) that the citizens kindly left out for you, Nerbit Claus. The scope/number of characters you do this to, and the game the challenge takes place in is up to you!

Just to add salt in the wound when it comes to the whole morality system of being a ruler; there’s an achievement for saving the lives of everyone called tough love. You’d think that would mean you have to be a tyrannical leader at the cost of your promises. But if you find the entire bank out of your own pocket, which is possible through buying so much land and taxing as much as you can get away with without too much effort… you’ll still get the tough love achievement. So there’s really zero point in being evil in this entry whatsoever. Game design is my passion.

" Okay since it is December and Christmas time I have came up with a very hard and probably impossible challenge for Skyrim. I call it- "Can you beat Skyrim as Santa Claus?" basically in this challenge you have to be santa of course and give gifts to people. (Basically finding a poor person and giving them a gold coin and also giving your companions gifts as well. Yes you can use companions.) You also have to be good as well and do quest that are only good. Cause Santa is not evil. So, I recommend siding with Ulfric but if you do the empire that's fine as well. If you can find a candy cane weapon mod and a Santa costume mod that can Help. You can use magic as well because Santa is a magical being after all. But you can only use one shout- The bend will shout from the Drgaonborn dlc. Since there are no reindeer in Skyrim, riding dragons is your best option. Also you can fight people but not kill them. And that's basically the challenge. If you decide to do this challenge- you can add in your own rules as well. Anyways this video was very cool! You did a fantastic job! "

I've recently 100%'d the game with my friend, with our last achievement being to collect every weapon in the game. Now normally one would think that this would be fairly easy. "Oh just make multiple saves and pray to RNGesus that you get a good roll on the weapons you need either in the shops and chests" Well yes but no. You see, in Fable 3 the weapons are listed in certain qualities with four specific weapons being ranked as "Mythic". What makes these weapons special? Well other then that they can only be obtained via earning a million gold and opening the chest in the Sanctuary or acquiring all 50 silver keys and unlocking the chest at the castle, each copy of the game will only give you 2 of the 4 weapons. You heard me right, it doesn't matter how many saves you've made, what route you've taken with your character, or when or how you open those two chests, once you've gotten those two weapons that was it. Your best of luck was to go online and hope that someone was willing to trade or give away their mythic weapon so you can earn the achievement. This took me and my friend YEARS to get, over a decade even to get. Thankfully the Fable community down at Discord was very generous and helpful and gave us the mythic weapons we needed to finally earn the achievement and 100% the game at long last.

Preston and Theodore Logan Spock, The Rock, Doc Ock, and Hulk Hogan All came out of nowhere lightning fast And they kicked Chuck Norris in his cowboy ass It was the bloodiest battle that the world ever saw With civilians looking on in total awe The fight raged on for a century Many lives were claimed, but eventually The champion stood, the rest saw their better Mr. Rogers in a bloodstained sweater

I haven't thought about "Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny in so many years, but I still remembered most of it when he made that reference...nice!

Am I in the weird bracket of liking Fable 3 as much as I do? I haven't thought about this game in years and remember it so fondly but now I'm at a loss

Teenage me would disagree that there's no differences between the endings. First time I got to the end I was so unhappy I wanted to go back and do it better, but the game autosaved at a point where it was too late. I decided to start the game again, completing it with the best ending in just a few hours. These games really are easy, and when you know what you're doing, very short.

26:10 So, this must be an update to the game because in the version I played, Theresa admonished me for being nice and gave me demon wings. And when I did things Reaver's way, she praised me and gave me angel wings.

Such an interesting way to play the game. The lack of weapon variety never bothered me because the spell system was my favorite. Having two spells that you could combine for fun results was always nice. Which is unfortunate in a run where you cannot unlock or use any spells.

Eh, spells aren't skills in this game. They're gauntlets. The Prince/Princess can't use magic naturally. So it shouldn't count as a skill. It's equipment, more akin to Ocarina of Time.

With any luck, Fable 4 will be here next year. Perhaps, if this reality is finally tired of torturing us, it will be good.

I definitely did not have many problems with how this game went. I don't even have the benefit many in the comments do of this being a 'childhood' game. I played this in my 20s. It honestly did just feel like more of the same. Which is fine by me. Sometimes I don't want games to add more and more features if they can find the fun essence of the game and just focus on that. The pairing down of weapon choice didn't really matter to me as all one ever did in previous games was be as good or evil as you could stand to get the best weapons for your slots. Anyways. Appreciate the trip down memory-lane, Nerbit. I'm eagerly awaiting the next Fable as well so I will be curious what you do with it when they finally release it. Whenever that may be.

a bypass for unlocking the fireball spell is to join another player's game. you are required to already have a spell later in the game so it would automatically unlock

I once forgot that "The Voice" quest was the DLC quest and after I started it I got stuck in a glitch where you can leave a part of the dungeon. And my last save was me entering the dungeon. So I had to restart the game.

My biggest problem with the game was that you couldn't die. The 'knocked down' mechanic really stole whatever tension or effort I put into the game.

Fable 2 struck a very good balance. As you still need potions of life just to not get penalties for getting knocked out.
