Going into this, I didn't intend on ranting about "Fallout New Vegas good, Fallout 3 bad", but boy does this run show how limited the player's options are sometimes with this game, when they simply don't want to kill anyone, and granted, ultimately you'd have a hard time doing that in FoNV too, especially at Hoover Dam, but in this one it feels like you really had to stretch things to their limits to make it work, relying on things such as speedrun exploits, that hilariously had you play as a smol baby man for the entire game, and on logical technicalities, just to barely keep the run going, despite what the game was trying to force you towards. I've been brought here by the YT algorythm, and I'm enjoying watching your videos, love your editing and your charisma. Wish you the best!

The wierd thing is that it's mostly the main quest that feels so railroady (using a ttrpg term, not referring to the faction). Nearly all of the side quests seem like they're happy for you to solve problems the way you wanted, including non violently. But the main quest wants to go find your Dad and works fairly well, but after James dies you need to start working with Lyon's Brotherhood, and help them crush the Enclave so that they can take over the purifier. Although you can Poison the Purifier and that's a fun option for pure evil characters. I love alot about Fallout 3, but I think it has a weak main quest.

I believe the commandment not to take the Lord's name in vain refers to how the bride takes the name of the husband in marriage: the commandment is saying that accepting God in vanity for the benefits of yourself is a sin. Its not about using God or Jesus as an explitive. Its about identifying as a Christian for the look and glamour of it while living a Godless and vain life of self serving.

@foureyedelf61518 ай бұрын
I don't think there was any attempt to worship him either. If your issue is with the name itself, consider Hannaniah Mishael and Azeriah. Don't know who those are? Actually you do if you know your Bible but for some reason we only refer to them by their Babylonian names - Shadrach Meshach and Abednego. Another example would be Hadassah, aka Esther. The name she's known by is the same as a goddess, Ishtar. Which means Hidden One, supposedly chosen because she wanted to keep her ancestry hidden. On a completely unrelated note, if you want to go down a bit of a rabbit hole, pun intended, look up why Ishtar was called the hidden one.
@TATERplaysGAMES5 ай бұрын
He's *named after* the boatman for the river Styx into the Grecian/Roman underworld. See, Charon never actually existed, he was a myth. We all know well enough that old religions aside from Christianity were simply misguided people just doing their best to explain the unknown and create rules to live by, unlike the very real and very powerful God we Christians worship. 🙏

Can you beat Baldur's gate 3 without braking the ten commandments? Now that would be a challnge.
@foureyedelf61518 ай бұрын
One might argue you can't get through the first bit aboard the ship. I haven't played it much myself, but I know that much. You have to take control of the characters for them to fight, they don't have their own AI. If you are strictly going by how to get through without killing anything, it would be impossible. One thing is it says do not murder. You are allowed to defend yourself. So I'd argue you can probably get through what I have seen of it so far. If I were trying it I would do it solo, not take any companions but try to help everyone. However I seriously doubt pulling someone's possessed brain out of their skull is quite kosher. So probably avoid that bit. Baldur's Gate would be a rather unique challenge if he wanted to try it. Just getting through character creation would take a whole video though. What abilities can you justify, what can you not? What would be the best build for a Commandments run, etc.

@TheNN7 ай бұрын
@@TheReconJacob Well I can tell you that things are gonna be tricksy if you do play it. It all really depends on how much you wanna adjust your rules, cuz outright, you cannot beat the game without at *least* going to a grey area in your rules as you must use the Tools on the Heart at the end. The good news is that in a totally unmodded, vanilla Morrowind, the game is REALLY easy to break. Not even talking about glitches or exploits or bugs, just in general, with some out of the box thinking, you can really do some wild stuff. For one small example you can skip large chunks of the main quest if memory serves, by just talking to Illunibi and killing Dagoth Gares. Best to make sure that this is the case but I feel like it is in a truly vanilla way. Another possibility is to buy the slaves in Tel Aruhn's slave market, as they become permanent (albeit fragile) followers until you free them from your service, or until they die. And that means they follow you through doors and loading zones (but not teleportation). One person I've seen has done a truly pacifist run: Corprus hunk. Though the 'way' they had to go about it would 100% break your rules, but it *is* doable to at least truly beat the game in a pacifistic way.
