Regading the first Edea fight, I believe it's due to Squall either being in critical HP or knocked out. That seems to fast track Edea's icicle.I do wish Rinoa had solo-d Ultimecia, that would have been poetic.

Did it once by accident, all my team killed and erased. Last fighter Rinoa with arnica. so I finished ultimecia by attacking with normal attack (very low since my character was a support :p) and using arnica when she used the 1hp strike. Long and boring fight but did it :p

Hey, thanks for the idea. I was going to start another ff8 run soon and I decided to do it as a challenge run. Only equip Ifrit, Shiva, and Quetzecotl for the whole game. I have always relied on breaking the junction system but this should make it really interesting. Refining Diabolo's card into unlimited demi spells was always my cheat for raising my Str stat.

I guess one factor could be how often you can get The End with Selphie. At least her strange vision has 255 hit rate, so you can load her up with GFs and highest possible haste junctions and fight a few cactuars to level up all the GF abilities super quick, then the rest of the game will go even faster with Rinoa using Wishing Star and Quistis popping Degenerator (or against bosses shockwave pulsar)

In Ultimecia's Castle, you can actually remove Squall, err, Clod from the party. Those green circles everywhere allow you to rearrange your party and you could've had three hot girls! Although that might have been too much hot girl power for KZbin to handle.

11:23 I don't see a rule that you can't play Triple Triad, so the only question is whether you're allowed to junction BIRB to gain AP to learn Card Mod. Cards is how you break the game early and easily, but if you're playing blind then you might not have enough information to know what options are available to you. But yes, getting 100 of (I'm pretty sure) any spell is much quicker through cards than through drawing.
