Every boss leaves stars out, just like the original kirby which had no copy abilities. It's always been possible to beat the games without them, as a sort of makeshift difficulty mode

I attempted this challenge myself on my second playthrough before watching this video. The challenge is actually pretty easy and I even did it without dying once. But, I was a little more strict than him on the rules and said that you can’t have copy abilities at all, dropping them immediately after getting them is not enough, you have to avoid getting them entirely. So there is something worth mentioning. After you beat world 1 the game will warp you back to waddle Dee town and start the copy ability evolution tutorial. You can’t leave the town until you evolve a copy ability. I tried everything I could think of, i tried different loading zones, quitting out, amiibo, 2 player but none work. You have to evolve a copy ability which forces it upon you when you evolve it.

The lolipop is not a copy ability. You eat it. You don't copy it. You eat it and it gives you invincibility. The lolipop isn't invincible, therefore you are not copying it.

I think it can be done, I've noticed you mainly need copy abilities to reach certain hidden Waddle Dees but otherwise you can defeat the bosses without copy abilities and the levels can be beaten without them.

I don't think the invincibility candy counts. It doesn't change Kirby's title, which is in the top left corner. Mouthful modes do, but they are obviously not things Kirby has swallowed so I don't think they count.

this challenge is a whole different beast in the post game. I did a similar challenge (no evolving copy abilities) and it was still hard as heck. I did complete the ultimate cup Z with no ability though. It took sooo long.

The game is designed so you can overcome any obstacle without any abilities, the only problem left is that you can't get some waddle dees which isn't even in your control so this takes no skill You should've done it like the VGmyths run where you reset the game everytime you eat something which is atleast a novel concept

I was trying to do this myself before learning about this video after seeing some attempts at jumpless runs, and there's a part that seems to be impossible without getting abilities that was totally left out of the video. (Which is why i found this video to see if there was a way around it) After beating the first world, you're automatically sent back to waddle dee town, and elfilin doesn't let you leave until you upgrade a copy ability, which also gives it to you once you upgrade it. I wasn't able to find any way around it but just thought i'd put this here incase anyone else has :/

Here is another challenge I like you to try Is it possible to beat Kirby and the Forgotten Land without upgrading abilities basically when I tried this myself I was forced to upgrade 1 ability which was the cutter cause I could not go back to level select and was able to change Cutter back to level 1. You get forced when the ability shop is open lucky I did get forced to not upgrade any other abilities like fire, or ice, or bomb, and Tornado. It’s best to stick for Adventure Mode for this challenge and not wild mode.

You can’t technically beat the game without copy ability because after you beat world 1 you are forced to upgrade a ability which mean that you also have to equip an ability

Technically, you do need to get a copy ability, when you beat world 1, the weapons shop opens and you have to upgrade fire or cutter no matter what, and when you upgrade an ability, it gives it to you
