10:36 for the goomba bros fight would it not just be 8 dodges out of 12. One of them has 6 HP and the other 7, and all parties involved deal 1 damage each. Your turn comes before theirs does. That means they get 12 chances to attack before they both die. If you kill the 6 HP one first, that means that the first 5 of those 12 turns will have both Goomba Bros. attacking, and the other 7 just have 1. As a result they get to attack 17 total times. You can't dodge the first 5, since youre not in danger yet, so there's 12 total attacks remaining that you can. I've decided to do this challenge myself with some modifications. Any mandatory fight where Mario is required is fair game (so dying to Bowser, attacking Jr Troopa, and using Peach Beam). Additionally, no glitches, no life shrooms, and no in battle RNG. That means any badge with a % chance to activate is banned, Merlee is banned, and Cloud Nine is banned. Wish me luck.

How are you getting 3.6% for the probability of 3 successes from a 1 in 3 chance distributed over 5hp? That's not how those statistics work, that's not even the right number for 3 consecutive dodges. What you're looking at is a binomial distribution. Your outcome has a 1 in 3 chance of success, but, each success extends the trial by 1. Therefore, your maximum number of trials is 7, because by trial 8, you will have always either died, or gotten the 3 misses needed to proceed. Now, the probability of getting 3 successes is around 25.6%, but even this isn't the actual probability, because what if all the trials were a success, or all but 1 etc? Those would also be successful, so we need to take the cumulative probability of having AT LAST 3 successes. All in all, you get around 42.9%, which isn't too shabby. For anyone curious, the first statistic works out to about 0.88%, which is like 1 in every 125 attempts or so.

I think you math on the odds of the goomba bros missing is a bit off. Looks like you were calculating the odds of them missing 9 (or 3) in a row, when what you actually need is for them to miss at least 9 (or 3) times before they make 5 successful hits You can use a binomial calculator for this. The odds are more like 0.8% with 10 health and 42% with 15

A better explanation of loading zone storage because someone got the script wrong: he says you can be on the ground for 1 second, but he means 1 frame. The game is 30 frames per second, which means one frame is 0.0333 seconds. Because you cant be on the ground for more than one frame, this trick is frame perfect. Whats more, its multi-frame perfect, requiring not just one or teo, but easily a dozen frame perfect inputs in a row. Every input is a specific 0.03333 second window, and if you miss it even once, you have to start over. Additionally, he incorrectly describes a double frame perfect trick. A double frame perfect trick isnt two frame perfect inputs at once, but two consecutive frame perfect inputs. In other words, this is actauly closer to a decuple frame perfect trick. Doubles are already hard, triples are extremely high end, and this trick would normally be considered along the lines of TAS only if it didnt have a modicum of rhythm to it.

As someone who has played this game multiple times, my first thoughts for the biggest roadblocks were Bowser 1, Jr Troopa 1, and Bowser 3. I can see the argument for why Bowser 1 doesn’t count, but that still left the other two. Jr Troopa I knew could be skipped with LZS, but I’ve seen your Reverse All Cards video and knew you struggled with that. Theoretically possible, but not something that seemed possible for you specifically. Final Bowser was definitely going to require Peach Beam. It wasn’t until later that I remembered ACE. It was just a matter of if you knew about it. Fortunately, Link is not Mario. I was wondering if you knew Bowser 2’s Star Rod didn’t make him invincible. I don’t know the reason for Multibonk doing one damage with each hit, but I do know why it happened with Watt. The four defense Bowser gains is unpiercable, so Watt can’t break through it.

Once you have quick change it doesn’t matter who you change the partner with because it no longer costs a turn so you get no advantage from changing with mario like you would if you didn’t have the badge equipped. I still tried not changing with him because it felt wrong but there may have been a couple times I did, but again it gave me no advantage and was the exact same as changing with a partner.
