Protoman clearly needed a training arc back in BN1. Man learned to not flinch to everything and to vary his attacks more. Congrats on the achievement of taking Bass down Buster only!

I was shocked given how much of a badass he comes across as in the game! Thanks - that was probably the biggest achievement I've ever had haha

18:50 - Specifically 2, Rogue is notably using his personal sword instead of his Laplace wizard. This means that ClockMan is pulling Rogue from either his fight with Geo in the Bermuda Maze (as Rogue EX) or the secret superboss at the Whazzap Ruins (as Rogue SX, his strongest form). Those are the only storyline battles where Rogue pulls out the sword.

for anyone curious, the red explosion was the basis for the air rake from 4-6, while the yellow explosion was the basis for air burst in 2-3. luckily for you, you'll have access to lots of useful stuff going into the later half of the series, so i dont actually see auras stopping to anymore

I won't even attempt that Bass fight with only Mega Buster when I can't even reliably beat Bass even with using chips. Tho I'm kinda surprised that lots of Boss Navis are so easy to be put in D Tier. Sadge that I can''t really get the Legacy Collection anytime soon but to those who got one, have a fantastic time with it. Great videos as always, can't wait for more upcoming contents from you!

Bass's "explosion" attack where it's an onslaught of orbs traveling along the field is actually known as Shooting Buster. And the machine gun fire covering your field is "Bass Rake".

Pause buffering I feel is necessary for a lot of the harder bosses in the BN series. Sometimes you just don't draw the invis/pop-up/barriers, but you have a perfect window where just naturally avoiding an attack can allow for a suitable counterattack. In BN4-6 I feel its even more important, since those games have full-synchro (landing a counter-hit allows your next damaging battlechip to deal x2 damage) and you can pause buffer to figure out if they are about to attack or just move to another tile.
@117Ender Жыл бұрын
i never thought of pause buffering, mostly cause i would netbattle my friend, so pausing did nothing, and it was fascinating to test chip strats/styles and improve

You thought about doing Shanghai.EXE: Genso Network, with only the buster? It's a cool Battle Network styled Touhou game. There's even Style Changes, that act like a hybrid of the Styles and Crosses (you get them from doing battles, and they're a combination of element and attribute (for example, PoisonFight Style, or ElecDoc Style) like Style Change, but you can store 1 of each attribute and switch between them mid-battle like the Cross System.

Wouldn't it better for Starforce Mega to rapid fire since his Charge shot is weak?
@Choosepl2069 Жыл бұрын
I thought I'd just let you know that this isn't actually all of the bosses in Megaman battle network 1/Operation shooting star. There's actually one boss that you missed, which admittedly is a very rare boss fight that you have to do a whole load of stuff to actually get, and that boss is none other than Starforce Megaman, who you briefly fight during his section of the story in the game. Or as translations refer to him as "Serious Shooting Star Rockman" You actually have to use kind of patching code to fight him, because he was an event-only boss encounter.

I forget if you said anywhere if you planned on doing the whole series. If you are, then for 4 and 5, are you allowing the use of chips for Double Soul? I want to assume yes, but I could see arguments against their use being a thing.

Well uhhh I just stumbled onto this like an hour after it got uploaded so I guess I'm just here now
@SeraphOC Жыл бұрын
So, a strange question to ask but one that I feel needs to be if you plan to continue the series. BN4 and 5 require chips to be sacrificed to activate Soul and Chaos Unison. Now, I agree that sacrificing a chip, and using a chip are two completely different things so for Bn4 this is understandable if you plan to use it, but the question needs to be raised for BN5, specifically if you go down the Team Colonel route since ColonelSoul has the Arm Change, which turns his charge shot from Screen Divide, into a non-elemental non-dimming standard chip like M-Cannon for example. I guess what I'm saying is whether or not we count ColonelSoul's Arm Change as using a chip? Cause you can use the arm Change as early as turn two, and making an exception for this might be required if you intend to beat the hardest bosses in it as well.
@creationcorporation6267 Жыл бұрын
This is a great question! I've been going back and forth on this. BN4 will require multiple playthroughs in order to see every scenario, so I was thinking that I'd do a different challenge for each playthrough - one with crosses, one with no crosses, and then figure out what other interesting wrinkles to add in the future! Regarding BN5, I haven't thought that far ahead just yet, but will absolutely be asking for feedback prior to starting!
@SeraphOC Жыл бұрын
@Creation Corporation That is a GREAT idea and I'm ashamed I didn't think that you'd do fights with both. Good luck on it, and here's hoping you actually get though BN4.
@SeraphOC Жыл бұрын
@@creationcorporation6267 Actually, another question has to be brought up because of BN4. What do you do about the mandatory DarkChip use in ToyRoboComp? Do we ignore it because it's mandatory?
@fierygamer5823 ай бұрын
I have a challenge if you are up to it. You have beaten the games with just a mega buster but can you beat the games without changing your folder or without moving in battle?
@velvetbutterfly Жыл бұрын
I feel like Starforce MegaMan does more damage if you just rapid fire compared to the charge shot. I think the charge shot is fine to boost damage if you're waiting or dodging anyway but looking at Stoneman it seems like it would have been much faster if you just held the button down instead.

@ColdEmperor Жыл бұрын
Shadowman in C tier? Sir! Your C has an extra curve and no opening. Something's off. I recommend you investigate. There's something holy about seeing a bro who loves MMBN beat it with restrictions. Ngl I was a little worried when I didn't see any uploads for awhile.
@creationcorporation6267 Жыл бұрын
Load Chaud, sir! My C will indeed require further investigation. Haha, my mistake - I think I changed my mind when editing despite already having done the voiceover! No need to worry, there's plenty on the way! I'm trying to come up with more creative things to post, but these games take a long time to play and editing takes even longer, but I'm going to post a new challenge in a different series and a video essay before putting up BN4!

Apparently bass has 1500 hp instead of 1000 in this version of the game, which feels a bit odd but oh well. I'm really curious though if anyone can beat (this version of) bass without taking any damage. But that would/might require either a lot of luck and/or ridiculous amounts of skill. I do appreciate that you spent a lot of time on the bass section. I'm really curious how the runs against bass are going to go in bn4 and bn5 and bn6 (There's like, two spinoff games as well but thats separate) Honestly you could probably make an entire video on just each version of bass. Speaking of, I noticed you didnt have the 150 hp aura version of bass in your BN2 video, wonder if you've done that
@mahomisawa4172 Жыл бұрын
Though the games do become quite different since style changes arent a thing anymore in BN456. Since there's so much variation depending on which game and buster you pick, the story itself might be easier. I'm really curious if there's a datamine as to the exact timing and behavior of the attacks and movements.

I really hope someone would make hacks for BN 2-5 (even 4.5 if possible) that adds in Star Force MegaMan over MegaMan.EXE (I didn't mention 6 because there already is a BN6 Star Force mod). It would make for an interesting challenge.
