Fun fact! In Duelist of the Roses (the sort of sequel to FM), there's a Toon field that powers up Toon monsters and weakens everything else. Toon Alligator, Dark Rabbit and Bickuru Box all get boosted on that field, so they're intended to seen as Toon Monsters! Not sure why they didn't just give them the Toon label

Reptiles? Oh this is going to be fun. They have kind of been all over the place in the history of the game and they tend to only be good when they have effects, and even then, all we have to do is look at the Venom archetype to show that they can still be trash when they have a win condition and support to work with. Still looking forwards to rock since the early game was full of them and they tended to be alright defenders at worst, and nightmares with the right setup and field presence.

Jon-Oh! I got a random challenge for you: it’s a “locked out challenge. How it works: you have access to every card in the game and as many copies as you’d like until you use the card in gameplay. So you can put Dark Hole in the very first duel at three copies, but the moment you use it once you cannot use it again for the rest of the game. Exceptions : if you throw a card away to filter through the deck, it will not count against you. Setting a spell card face down and never using it will not count against you (but a trap will). Fusing a monster will not lockout the fusion, but it will lockout both materials used. The goal is to see you strategically play with as many different cards as possible .

I feel like you'd need to have a few more exceptions and modifications to avoid running out of certain cards, especially since a lot of the game plays as a gauntlet of battles, meaning you wouldn't even be able to modify your deck between matches during saying the final 6, for instance. You're on to something interesting, but I think the ruleset you defined would need a few tweaks

Mmm Since equips and field spells are so important, maybe a blanket exception for them. Equips and field spells aren't "expended" when you use them in a deck, but you need to factor the monsters you have available to make a good balance of equips to suit them. And then the final gauntlet would probably only work if those duels didn't eliminate cards, since you can't change in the middle anyways.

"Reptiles are one of the more underrepresented monster-types in Forbidden Memories" Pretty sure they're one of the most underrepresented monster types in the actual TCG too. They've only really got like two archetypes, one of which is really bad (Venom) and the other of which just got released this year and is shared with two other types (Ragnaraika, which it shares with Insect and Plant)

They tried to do something with Reptiles in Rush Duels, however. The Chameleon archetype used by Yuga Goha was nothing special, but the Secret Investigation archetype (which are human ladies with lizard tails that wear masks to hide their true identity) used by Terza Flatwood/Mitsuko Hiramori became meta. So, there's some good news at last.

There's also the worm archetype, which was probably the closest the Reptile has been to competitive since they paired well with XYZ monsters, and then there were the Reptilians (not great, but they had some jank representation.) At least they had Des Feral Imp and Kagetokage helping them to say they were involved in anything competitive when Rank 4 spam was a thing, still not a great showing, but not horrible.

Nice treat for today, Great Vid as always Jon-Oh. I always hear your birds at some points in your vids, but to hearing your kid is quite wholesome at least to me it is. As for your run, oh.....boy I felt that pain. That your strongest monster is only at 1800 and that you don't have a field spell that can power it, kinda sucks. If anything, at least you don't suffer a debuff with a field spell (like pyros with umi and fairies with yami (definitely scared for you when you do the fairy run since the final 6 has the yami field for the first half)) and that you don't have same type fusions. Great to add the reptiles native to your country dude to add to the trivia. Some runs that I would like you to do now that I have a very good idea of what you can do. 1st: Fiends, specifically so that you can highlight one certain card that has a same type fusion. 2nd: Thunders, so we can highlight the goat of this game Twin-headed Thunder Dragon though I don't know what you will do with it considering how you get it and thunder dragon. 3rd: I know I asked this during your last video on the spellcaster's trivia but I would want dragons here to highlight the 2nd goat, Meteor B. Dragon. If anything pls don't suffer and do a fairy run anytime soon, but if you do well I'm happy with any vid you post about forbidden memories just worried about your sanity.
