Great build and video Suj, the leather strip really does give it a edge. Love the extra video at the end, your front room is stunning mate. Thanks for sharing your experience with us and excepting the #KPWBCC2020 😊

What an awesome upgrade, great work Suj! I don't know how I missed your fliptop bench & chop saw though, that's a great idea. I rarely use my own chopsaw so if I ever put in the effort to make a bench for it, I'll be sure to borrow your idea!

Thanks Mario, that mitre saw stand is pretty useful, especially when space is tight in the shop. It is a good idea to consider, if you are not using it that often. Thanks for the comment, just about to start watching yours and all the ones that were uploaded since midnight my time. Haha 😄

Nice build there Suj, like the addition of the leather down the middle, I think that finishes it off quite nicely 👍
@SujMenon4 жыл бұрын
Thanks James, original design was a bit more complicated, but finally stuck with just a stripe. Haha..😆👍

I really like the use of old bed slats and with the addition of matching curves, the chair looks great. Your film making is brilliant!

Thanks for the great comment, Ben. And yes these bed slats are pretty useful 👍

Thanks Jamie 😊 🙏. I'm happy with the result as well (though my son prefered his old ikea chair 😜) lol

Thanks a lot Karl 😊. I think it actually took more time in editing than the actual build 😜👍

Lov'n the Roman idea to lay down the leather bud! Nice tip there!

Haha..Ben, yes, learned from past experience, lol. 🤣👍. Tacky contact adhesive gives 0 time in case it comes in contact.

Hey Suj. That's a great improvement over the originals. They look brilliant.. Your filming and editing style is fantastic.

Thanks Carter. Yes, it is an improvement to the original IKEA one. But man, compared to your geometric design one, this is way too simple. 👍😁

Frank, everyone loves a biscuit, but not after downing 2 bottles of cola back to back. haha, 👍😁. And thanks for the comment mate.

I was wondering how strong the back is? I think over time somebody is coming off it. Maybe some kind of metal angle piece behindf them routered into as a wee inlay?? I lover the detail with leather

That's my worry as well. That join is too fragile for an adult. Its still standing btw, but wouldn't do this way again

0:53 - Thanks for the shout out mate... 🤣 nice of you to add me to your push stick. I need to send you a Fixit Fingers sticker to replace that black sharpie! Hit me up on Insta with your address 😁 I thought I saw you cut a leather strip in brown then got confused, then inspired by the marketing. Great upcycle!
@SujMenon4 жыл бұрын
Haha.. yes that was a silent shoutout to you James. 😜. Will dm my address on insta. Btw, I was hoping no one would notice that leather strip colour difference. I was converting 2 chairs at the same time and thought I would stick with red. But as always overlooked it while editing. The footage was recorded at 4k, and my laptop just couldn't handle it. So just winged it while editing.
