I am new to this topic. Could someone help me understand as to why all "ground" connections are considered to be just 1 link? If we number the other fixed joints like the ground one, there should be two more links, shouldn't there? Apologies if I am wrong. I just want to know the theory behind it. Thanks in advance!

There is no ternary link triangle is considerd as single link and the turning pair along with sliding pair is considered as redundant motion .

You can't move that link with the remaining mechanism at rest. So it's not a redundant degree of freedom.
