You are such a GOOD teacher - you are clear, not verbose, you demonstrate with clarity - thank you!! Would you do some videos using two heddles? Thank you!

Hi Zoe, thank you for your lovely, kind words! I have a number of two heddle classes over at my online weaving school. Here is the link if you're interested in taking a look - kelly-casanova-weaving-lessons.teachable.com/?preview=logged_out

I just use a wide pickup stick to open the shed equally using the rigid heddle. Makes it much easier and I get a smoother weave. I also have a pair of long legs on the back of my RHL to prop up the loom.

Really good to get the results of your project. I was going to have a go myself. My old farmhouse is on a small hill with fields around 😊.

Interesting that you had problems with this little loom! I have used my Knitters loom for tapestry with a 5 epi heddle very successfully, however I did not use the same warp thread as you. I have used a fine Seine twine which does not stretch noticeably at all and gets used for spinning wheel drive bands, as well as Lyscot #10 crochet cotton (the stuff you use for lace doileys), and only had problems when I folded the loom to take it with me as it took a bit of effort to get the tension right again when I unfolded it. Cotton does stretch under tension and so does linen even o a "proper" tapestry loom, so hopefully you just got a bad batch. Nobody should be put off from trying tapestry on the Sample-it, but perhaps a bigger RH would make a difference?

Do you have a vid on warping for tapestry weaving on a rigid heddle loom
@KellyCasanova2 жыл бұрын
Not specifically, but I just warp as though I do for plain weave.

Could you block the ridges out any?
@KellyCasanovaКүн бұрын
I didn't wet finish it, I actually think that would make the ridges even more prominent. I don't mind the ridges, it's all experimental 😊

Can I do tapestry on a Louet Erica table loom
@KellyCasanova Жыл бұрын
I did just answer this elsewhere, but I will add that I've never used the Erica, so I can't really comment on the amount of tension it can hold. My suggestion is to give it a try and see what you think 😊

Can we add knots in it ?
@KellyCasanova5 ай бұрын
Yes, various knots can be used in tapestry, both decoratively and to secure ends.
