Great video Karin :) I’m glad your ‘kangaroo pouch’ jacket saved your XPan from getting too wet! I really liked your vertically overlapping stitched images, my favourites being the steps leading up and the guy that stopped to say hi. I also liked the shot of the unicorn head high up on the corner of the building :)

I have loved the stitching of images since I first saw Mike & Doug Starn's work when studying photography when in high school, really cool to see the idea of using panoramic images to stitch.

A very exciting concept with the merged images. I find David Hockney images super because he not only changes the perspective but also the time. Movement through multiple images. Like a failed iPhone panorama only analog. You dare to do something new with your videos every time.That’s great! The best I found the series of pictures 8:58 with the funny guy. Since you have here somehow the time and space relation. :D
@KarinMajoka

Yeah, Hockney's work is next level, hard to compare something to that since he mastered the time-space paradox in his images. Thanks for your comment! :)

I've only ever done digital images for stitching but using a film camera is an interesting idea. Also I generally use a tripod when doing a stitched pano. Hand holding adds another level of difficulty to an already tough assignment.

Such a wicked shoot! There's something I just love about the atmosphere of this gloomy Copenhagen. I don't have the X-Pan, but I am considering getting myself some 3D printed spools for loading 35mm into an RB67; this pano-composite method looks especially fun!
@KarinMajoka
@KarinMajoka 2 жыл бұрын
Even though it was not as comfy, I also liked the coziness of the dark Copenhagen weather. I think using those 3D printed adapters is a fantastic solution, especially because you get to expose the sprocket holes as well, which might add another interesting dimension. :)

I saw some of Hockney's 35mm montages a few years back in Arizona and I was in love. It was so cool to see them up close. I have done quite a bit of creative digital stitching, though it often begins as an accident. ha. I've really wanted to do physical collaging/montaging since I was influenced by Deborah Turbeville, Arnold Newman, Frank Ockenfels 3, and David Hockney of course. :) It hasn't happened yet ... but I'm getting there? Your shots are awesome, and thank you for sharing!

Seeing Hockney's work in person just hits differently, right? I remember visiting one of his exhibitions in Cologne, seeing those gigantic paintings and those Polaroid collages had a huge impact on me. Just impressive how art can affect you even years later. I will definitely also check out the other artists you have mentioned since I have not heard about most of them yet. Have fun shooting and let me know how you liked your results at ISO 640! :)
@JamieMPhoto
@JamieMPhoto 2 жыл бұрын
@@KarinMajoka Yes! It was a really wonderful experience and well worth the visit. Even his iPad drawings were super interesting. And that's awesome! I missed a Turbeville collage show while I was in New York a few years back and I'm still heartbroken over it. I've seen Arnold Newman's work in person, though, and actually HELD SOME. Talk about amazing! Thank you, and I'll definitely share my 640 results! :)

Maybe your idea would be great for landscape or a huge building. Wait till you expose negatives with a Contax G2. It goes through rolls incredibly fast. Thank you for your video Karin.
