I haven't been able to work out hard in over 20yrs. I was a power lifter in high school & one year in The Army. I used one of the currently available systems similar to the one you are showing here & on the 2nd day of use, it has already made a difference bringing old muscle back to life instead of building more which I don't really need.

That's because a TENS machine sends electrical shocks to your nerves in order to trick you into thinking that you now have less pain. It's helps, but it's not the solution. Find a good chiropractor and you'll regain your life, believe me. Hope you get better brother 💪

I had a unit that had many cables and individual pads of variuos sizes you could attach. This was back in the late 90s. And yes it did work! I gained like 15-20 lbs of solid muscle with it. I would do a routine like the Charles Atlas style exercies, but the electro shocks made it extra intense.

The first settings are massage and warm up, plus warming down and massage after the initial 3rd setting upwards. So 5mins Massage, 5mins warm up then 20 to 30mins of the actual training settings, then as the start but in reverse. When I first did it I went staight at it, and had serious ab ache/pain after 😂.

You can easily develop abs in 2 weeks by doing crunches every 2nd day. If it takes two weeks with that contraption, you're a fool for using it.
@JohnHBatte
@JohnHBatte 2 ай бұрын
Many cant do crunches, i used these in the 90s when first ones hit market and they worked wonderfully the rapid speed pulses burned and caused vast changes in blood fllow. Using the slow strength setting, it massively increased ab and arm miscle sizes and left me sore. I used it until the electrode went bad and cant wait for a new vital flex core to come in. @morrisboris6877

I couldnt do crunches the first few times I did them either. You have to keep at it. In no time, you'd be getting abs. The problem is that most people want instant results. That's just not reality.

@@morrisboris6877 I can't do ab workouts with results. I did a strict workout for my abs, biceps, forearms, and legs. I saw results in all over 3 months except abs. I kept reading on solutions and everyone is saying "abs are made in the kitchen" So I lost tons of weight and went underweight, I have too little fat. No abs. I can do 100 situps, I can do inclined no problem, my core strength is great, no abs. They wont reveal and I look skinny fat. it takes tooooo long to workout now because doing 100 situps takes too much time. SO I gave up after 5 months. Done and killing abs made me kill it all. All I want it a flat stomach, not a 6 pack. If a machine can do it, then I am happy. I hate planks, the only workout I have done that I actively hate.

Don’t care about getting ripped I’ve had seven back surgeries didn’t really make it a whole lot better however, can’t do situps can’t lift weights can’t run many many things I can’t do and at 65 years old my 270 pounds that had muscle involved is now 220 pounds and The muscles are pretty much melted into the rest of the flesh. Will this increase my core strength and my arms and legs as if I use it on a regular basis over long period of time?
@Know-nx5yo
@Know-nx5yo 2 ай бұрын
no it won't. you need to lose weight by doing cardio. the best thing for core strength is doing suspension training. the next best are planks and army crawls. plus, it will depend on what you mean by core. lots of so-called experts have no idea what the core is and they like to yell "engage that core". what's a core? How do i engage it?

the machines i got advise against using them on the neck, as the electric current can zap your brain. very bad idea for the spine. i was placing the electrodes on my back. one was placed on the spine and the pain was excrutiating. you can place the electrodes on the muscles that are way from and which support the spine.

I have an artificial right elbow and restricted to only occasionally lifting 10 lbs with right arm because of wear in joint and threat of it breaking. I am wondering if this willbhelp with development of right bicep? Also, because I can't lift weights to work out my chest, I wonder if these can be used to try to help with the limited toning I can achieve? So glad you covered this! Thanks!

You can try the pec deck, if your gym has one, to develop your chest. No pressure will be put on the artificial elbow.
@morrisboris6877
@morrisboris6877 Ай бұрын
If your artificial elbow is made of ceramic, you might be able to lift weights. Best to discuss this with your doctor or therapist. People with replacement hips, made from ceramic, are told by doctors to exercise and work out at the gym. As Alex/Mike said, don't use the muscle stimulator on the bicep, as screws are used to attach the artificial elbow. They will act like lightning rods and draw the current and burn your muscle tissues.

@@TheBobBradCrew I will say that Ab Stim with an EMS unit has done wonders for me, but I am 70 and desperately fighting the sarcopenia+old age degeneration war. Once you have a defined six-pack (and I do) this approach is great for keeping it with less ab-work in the gym. There is some (loose) science behind it, but I have yet to see confirmation that EMS will give you a ripped body when you do not already possess it. Should be no surprise that all the models showing off the products are pretty ripped and they did not get that way with these machines.

Not everything need to be based on science. 1. Lots of KZbinrs claim what they're saying is based on science and don't/won't/can't back it up. 2. Take, for example, traditional Chinese medicine. Western doctors advise against it because there's no scientific evidence it works. But nowadays, they're turning to it because western medicine doesn't work for a lot of things. On the contrary though, therapists are using EMS for rehab, as Mike said. You can find studies on this that it works at retraining muscles. There are also research that say EMS will not build muscles. NOTE: retraining and building are different things.
