2:42 trade queens, push king, and force him to develop other things?
@mitchratka3661Ай бұрын
Simp trading literally his only usable piece besides the king is definitely not a good plan, there is no way he can force a check before the opponent just takes all his pieces
@cathsaigh2197Ай бұрын
@@mitchratka3661 If the opponent knows what's going on they might do that. They have no reason to avoid checks. It's a plan, whether it's a good one depends on whether you consider draw a good outcome.
@mitchratka3661Ай бұрын
@@cathsaigh2197 but simp has made it very clear that HE considers drawing from a disadvantaged position a win of sorts, he even said it in the video, so while I may disagree, that is the standard of this channel, not to mention that while the opponent COULD just randomly check since they have no reason not to, they also don't have a reason TO either, they would most likely attack random pieces then take them when simp can't move it, it's not about what's possible, it's about what's MOST LIKELY
@cathsaigh2197Ай бұрын
@@mitchratka3661 And if the opponent is just attacking whatever piece they can and the King has moved out in the open attacking the king is a LIKELY option.
@mitchratka3661Ай бұрын
@@cathsaigh2197 yea it is, but it's not about likely, it's about MOST likely; in my opinion, the tunnel vision on capturing pieces is higher for the average 100-rated player

If Simp puts his king in a light square the opponent will check with the bishop.
@Doogsonai16 күн бұрын
The testosterone way to play this is to go Leroy Jenkins with your king, taunting him to check you with every piece. It's not like a 200 rated player is going to be able to checkmate you in the center of the board anyway! Challenge idea: chess, but you're playing Chaturanga / Shatranj / medieval chess: 1. pawns only move one square, 2. woman is Adviser, only moves one square diagonally, 3. bishop is Elephant, only moves exactly two squares diagonally, 4. no new-fangled moves like castling or en passant.

I'd argue that unless the challenge specifically requires you to lose or draw in a certain way (e.g. achieve a stalemate while being down at least 10pts of material), then you have to win the game while adhering to the condition of a challenge. Otherwise you could just offer the draw at any point... (coward?)
@ecMathGeek29 күн бұрын
I'd argue that Simp is usually literal in his interpretation of the rules (except in cases where he completely misinterprets them). There's no reason to add implied rules to any challenge. Simp plays by the "If it's technically correct, that's the best kind of correct" ruleset.

Chess, but you’ve invented the telegraph. A piece (not a pawn) can only capture a piece (not a pawn) on squares it is returning to. To be clear, not a square it has visited any time previously, but the last square it was on.
@rohan1864Ай бұрын
Kinda understandable decision at the end, but it's always very anticlimatic, you shouldn't call that a "mission accomplished". Besides, you weren't losing, could have stalled for a bit longer and seen it through. You'd probably even have chances for the very same position repetition again.
