Anti-bride Trish and her fiancé Ben are about to take the marital plunge. For them it is all about having a chic and fun wedding without breaking the bank. Will the couple be able to have the day they want at the price tag of their choice?..

That's exactly why the bride 's parents total responsibility to pay for her dream wedding. Parents , like us had 25 years to DAVE for the event. If our daughter didn't want the wedding of her dreams, it's her money . NOT OURS. Any parent that doesn't do that is 100% selfish. Period.
@MsJubjubbird
@MsJubjubbird 2 жыл бұрын
@@lucyterrier7905 not every parent can save these days because the cost of living is so high. Mortgages used to only be 3-5 times a family's income. Now they're about 15 times a family's income. Parents are still paying off the house by the time the kids get married. Add to the rising food and healthcare costs. Plus the cost of raising kids has increased as they're expected to have computers, phones, sports gear, extracurricular activities, uniforms etc. Not to mention, weddings are now an actual industry and commodity- which has caused the costs of the associated items to increase exponentially.

@@lucyterrier7905 Selfish? You're full of it! There's so many parents who want to give their daughter a dream wedding but there's lots of times that it's impossible. That doesn't mean they are selfish, that means there's not enough money to do it because they live on a fixed income. It's sad you feel so uppity you believe parents who CAN'T do it are selfish parents!

What I didn't like about the couple's attitude is that they took advantage of their friends by expecting free service from them. They were penny-wise and pound-foolish, which is why they still wound up paying 13k bucks. Had they really wanted a cheap wedding, they could've not ordered catering but asked the guests to bring food and drinks instead of a wedding gift. For a simple ceremony like that, they wouldn't even have needed a wedding planner. Alternatively, they could've just had less guests. I also wonder why none of these episodes mention the cost of a photographer and potentially a videographer. They're generally costly, too. The price of the wedding bands wasn't mentioned, either.

It is more than irritating to read through these comments and wonder when people stopped listening! This couple stated very clearly that the bride’s mom was organizing the ceremony “out in the woods” in another part of the country. The event they were planning was the reception back in the city a week later. I agree that if you serve alcohol you need food but Mama stepped up to pay for that. Gorgeous wedding!! One of the top!! Proves it can be done beautifully without spending your life savings. Trish’s dresses and hats were the most beautiful I had seen on a bride. Classy, elegant, sophisticated. She looked great! Ben’s suit looked wonderful too. I think the food arrangement was wonderful and fit their style. I thoroughly enjoyed this and the wedding planners desire to do what they wanted and not what he thought they should do as a traditional wedding. He gave them what they wanted. Congratulations Lands! You scored tops in all the W&B weddings I’ve seen! For those people calling them cheap, go ahead and have your $75 to 100,000 wedding that could have bought your first home and that people will forget till their next big wedding.

David was great with this couple - so patient. They weren't the most realistic couple in some ways and considering their age, right or wrong, more would expected of them. I thought the mom paid for the food so they should be under budget. Calla lilies fit their sophsitcated flair but needed more substance. White tulips could have given th modern or antique flair - kind o art deco which fit their venue. And so reasonable. I would have replaced the large wooden buttons on her wedding ooutfit with family brooches. And the cigar room was a nice idea and went with the vibe but really not an efficient use of money ditto or the dancers. Money could have gone to snacks or desserts or...Nice notes personalized for each person would be lovely favours. Or home baked cookies with dollarstore cellophane. The band could have dressed better even whit dress shirts and black pants. Even dollarstore feathers or the centerpieces could work. I loved they had a vision but I think the kind of had more frenimies than friends who were vender. They got business and promotion. Honestly while I lovd her hats and fascinator she could have added some netting to the h $5 hat she had for th wedding and made er own fascinator or gone to Claires or quivalent for an inexpensive ornament or make her own fascinator. I would have liked to seen the inside of the grooms pants - usually there is some fabric in the seat. Changing the celebration even til 7pm would have helped with the food situation and made more clear it was a cocktail party. I think David's ideas for food was more cocktail oriented and clear cut. Some of the food they picked while it is their wedding added to the confusion was this suppose to b a dinner. I wonder if this venue would allow them to bring in their own food because family members and friends could have sponsored say a sweet bar or say shrimp and sushi platters.

We DIY’d as much as we could, had our ceremony in our living room, made the food, my dad made the cake, no invitations we just sent out texts to everyone. It was chaotic, and amazing at the same time. I wouldn’t change a thing. We are planning our 5 year vow renewal for our families mostly, and that will be more of a traditional wedding. They were NOT stingey. They just didn’t feel all that money should be lut on things that weren’t for them, but to impress the guests. I think they did wonderful. People should think of cutting cost like that. I had a wonderful day. A friend played the piano free during reception, and I went to a private college music department and hired four violinist to play during dinner. Cost $50 and we gave them a huge tip. I shopped the last year's styles which were in sale. Colors we're taupe and cream. With cream and different shades if pink. I found three flower girl dresses fur $2O each, my bridesmaid dress for $50, my dress was $200, all in the same colors. The MoH bought her dress. Flowers were done by a professional friend, but he picked them himself from a friend’s garden that grew flowers people could pick through the summer. My cake was a regular 3 tier homemade carrot cake for $100, but my flower friend had three glass cake stands of different sizes. The tallest was nearly 3 feet. He separated the cake layers and put them the stand surrounded by greenery and flowers. We ordered two sheet cakes for extra. We had a buffet dinner. Decor, linens, chairs came with the venue, which was a hotel on campus for guests. It was built over a waterfall and was gorgeous. The college had been built in the 1800s so plenty old gorgeous buildings and grounds and a photographer friend took pics. We saved a lot doing this and put our money towards our first home. I still recall how much fun it was. We had to make people go home.

The fact that they thought 2 pieces of hors d’oeuvres was suitable for a 4 hour affair is mind blowing. I would pass on this lame wedding. I get and respect wanting to save money but you are going to starve your guest. Why even have a wedding?

I love this couple. They are funny and relatable. They got married beforehand. The “party” is a NECESSITY to the families. They didn’t want to offend family by NOT including them in the “marriage”. All you haters should get a grip.

Cigars on a tiny budget. Weird really weird. This frenda's is really silly, they are getting a type of free advertising, but charging the couple for the goods is rather cheeky.The guest sure we're loading up on the food.Although the dancer clothes were awefull.

OMG. The worst couple I've ever seen. So rude and so incredibly childish, both of them. Stop interrupting the poor wedding planner when he's trying to do what they hired him for. He should have gotten double the pay, at least! Such a patient man! Why is she wearing a nightgown? And neither one of the hats suited her, at all. Not the jacket either. Bad taste all the way. If you don't want a wedding, then don't have one! Simple as that!

Agreed, and he was just talking nonsense too, saying things without thinking what he said. I was really pissed the most at 28:20...completely ignoring what David was talking about something important, and talking over him, commenting on the food.
