Live locally and never been in most of these places mainly because I don't drink ales or cocktails, but some of them look interesting and I'm going to have to give them a go. Thanks for opening my eyes.

Great video of my hometown. I'm so glad you visited the black horse, which is my favourite

You really only walked in quite a small circle up until the black horse. There's so many more in the surrounding area even after all the ones that have been closed/ knocked down.

My daughter and son in law who are from Preston but rarely ever ventured into the city centre for a drink. Well, my son in laws 30th birthday came up and my daughter decided to take him into town for a birthday treat. They were having a drink in one of the bars, a stones throw from the Bull & Royal. They got talking to two guys who were also from Preston and my son in law bought them a drink. They were having a really good time. My daughter decided to nip outside for a cigarette whilst my son in law went to the gents. On my daughters return to the bar, she spotted her husband (my son in law) crawling out of the gents on all fours with blood dripping from his face, he could hardly breathe. The police were called and it turned out that when my son in law decided to visit the gents, one of the guys who they were drinking with had followed him in behind and gave my son in law the hiding of his life. The perpetrator walked out of the toilets and met up with his mate outside. My daughter seen them leaving and bid them goodbye telling them it was nice to have met them. They smiled, waved to her and she walked in to find my son in law crawling on the floor. My son in law said he had lost consciousness during the attack. What utter swines would do that to two of the nicest people they could have met. The police were not in the least interested in finding the culprits. They were as much use as a chocolate fireguard. The bar had captured video footage of the culprit following my son in law into the gents which my son in law later got a copy of. He put it on fb asking if anyone recognised them and they were found. The police did absolutely nothing, no charges, nothing. My son in law suffered a fractured jaw. The last thing he remembered whilst being attacked was being repeatedly kicked in the face and head. His face and head were swollen like a balloon for weeks. Never again have they ever ventured into Preston town centre. It's an ugly world out there. You need eyes in the back of your head going out at night. I remember back in the 80's and 90's Preston city centre was the place to be at weekends and one felt safe back then. It's not like that anymore sad to say.
