Can you make a patterned end grain plywood table like Michael Alm, with budget tools?

We all watch youtube, skilled craftsman who make jobs look easy, and think to ourselves 'I can do that'. That's exactly what I did when I watched one of Michael Alm's videos on making intricate end grain patterns using just plywood.
It never occured to me that 1- This was his trade, his skill, 2- That he had a workshop full of all the right tools and the knowledge to go with it.
So the question arrose halfway through attempting this project: Can you actually make an end grain pattern like Michael using budget DIY tools at home?

Great job on the bed and table! Both are very creative solutions. You’ve got me wishing I had a camper van. However I know I don’t have the patience to build one. You’ve outdone yourself and it all looks really good!!

Toni, we've reached the end game. In a way this table symbolises the entire van build - starting from scratch you've used your ingenuity, determination, sawdust and wood glue to create a stunning and unique table, just like the rest of the van. I'm very proud of your heroic efforts - people have been awarded the Victoria cross for less than this, but FFS can we get back to the bike videos.😉It's just occurred to me, what is your reaction going to be to the first person to leave a coffee ring on that new table? I hope it's Will. 😁😁😁

David so true… this van is a symbolic representation of the van build… and yes you got the measure of me when you mentioned the coffee ring…. get out get out Get OUT 😂. Yes it looks like the bike videos will be coming back shortly. I do actually have one I need to edit regarding a camping trip I did on the bike last year. Just never got round to it with the van build, so watch this space

I don't subscribe to anyone ever, but I saw your comment on wood girl's video about the dress, and I had such a laugh that I'm giving you the like and subscribe she was trying to cheat to get with the gimmicky too tight clothing thing (I also watch guitar videos and there's guitar/drum versions of her too... so annoying). And the table and van look awesome to boot! Great work!

@@ToniReviews I was looking again for CNC videos and a wood girl video popped up. The thumbnail was just her butt in the too tight dress - 424k views in 6 days. Something about her making a board. Didn't watch it. So shameful... and why does KZbin recommend that video when I'm looking for info on setting up 4th axis rotary carving on a CNC?
