Can you clarify something? Do videos produced to be shorts NEVER generate watch time toward monetization? Or only fail to generate watch time with respect to the shorts specific views? Like will normal KZbin viewers still increase the monetization watch time? I mean, at the end of the day it's still just a normal video except for being a weird aspect ratio right?

This needs to be updated. KZbin won't recommend regular videos if you watch shorts from the same channel. The algorithm is independent for each.

I looked at your channel, the 2 videos that did well have "Among Us" in the title, every other videos title doest really give viewers or KZbin much information as to what it is about, at the very minimum try to title your videos and add a description to let KZbin and viewers know more information, this is the first place i'd start

KZbin says as of now: Whether Shorts are found on the Shorts shelf or through the short video player, ads won’t be served on them, and they won’t generate KZbin Premium subscription revenue. Shorts also don’t contribute to KZbin’s Partner Program eligibility, but subscribers gained from watching your Shorts still count toward the eligibility threshold. As we continue to experiment and improve the Shorts experience, there may be opportunities to monetize Shorts in the future.

I have youtube shorts monetized. You can’t do it over a phone though. I have to upload my shorts then go onto my web browser on my computer then go to my content then go to each video and on the drop down menu select monetize

Creating a custom thumbnail to go along with your shorts has the best chances of getting it suggested. Try it! Shorts are best on playlist to get monetize hours just saying . Chicken egg thing unless you got one with 1 million views

I have this problem in Utube that If I want to make a shorts video it has to be 9:16 the aspect ratio and there cant be any black bars on the side of the video I dont know how to do this i keep trying it but when I upload it, it gets uploaded as a normal utube video but vertical and with side black bars if anyone knows how to fix this please reply thank you.
