Was touring Mcallan in Scotland about 3 months ago and we were given some of the spirit after the second distill to taste. When the guide asked us to describe what we were experiencing I said, "Candied Dried Soft Furry Pineapple with a chew" and a total rando in the group yells out "That's SO Brianna!" and of course I responded with, "You Magnificent Bastard!" .... we laughed, his wife laughed and my friends (who had no clue what was going on) were so confused! The rando turned out to be from Kentucky - small world huh!?

Is it possible that the less "burn" on the nitro whiskey is because it has increase the evaporation of the ethanol? You would need to measure the proof before and after.

The bitter notes from the CO2 is cause it changes the PH of what you are carbonating it, in the aquarium hobby we deal with this if we dissolve CO2 for better plant growth
@fawnn1644 Жыл бұрын
They explained this in the video. The dissolved CO2 interacts with water to create carbonic acid. Obviously that acid is gonna change the PH

There was a bar in Venice Florida called Tap & Cork. Guinness stout was always on the menu. Often there would be craft beers that required nitro. The owner made the mistake of pushing the Guinness with straight nitro also instead of the proper 25%/75% (co2/nitro) 'beer gas'. The Guinness had half the flavor with a snow white head rather than light tan. Our fellow customers from across the pond were appalled, as was I. A shipment of Guinness (one quarter keg) would last a month. Most of the other quarter kegs barely lasted a week.

Thats an easy one to try, since MSG is everywhere. A couple grains in ardbeg makes it taste even meatier. Much more than just a trace makes ardbeg taste like metallic poison. It's weird, but I've only tried it with ardbeg. Terragon on cheap Canadian whiskey makes it taste more like a floral speyside. I do weird things to my whiskey, apparently.

Hydrogen isn't a noble gas. Noble gases are (basically) inert. H isn't. See also; the Hindenberg. It could get spendy, Argon is cheap and readily available. Helium probably next so. Neon, Xenon, and Krypton.
