Takenoko is on my buy list, mostly for when family visits etc. I have watched a couple of playthroughs on here and I think you’re probably right. It would be tough to either create a fair system, or just play against yourself (which is usually a bit complicated, and not really fun haha).

I think Arguset, the original poster, was confusing his games up. Tokaido/Takenoko 😀 FYI: A BGG user made an Automa deck for Takenoko. It has 30+ thumbs up for it. I haven’t tried it. Guess I’m too lazy. (I have the app)

Let me know how it goes! The dice was definitely an easy way to control the opponents, but I feel like it lacked a bit of character..

Nice run through. I tried this variant too. I rolled two dice at the same time (color coded to the players) when I was in the lead to save time. Unfortunately the best way to play Tokaido solitaire is on an app. The animation and music are really good on the iOS version.

Yes, I’d probably agree, it’s definitely one of the best board games available on mobile imo.
