I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. How refreshing to see a KZbinr showing all his shots and not just some picked pured drives. Seeing this gives hope to thousands who think the game is about perfection. You prove that it’s the opposite. It’s about making do with what each swing has dealt you.

38 on the back 9 with 3 birdies is what makes you a 5-7 hcp. Whenever anyone says you can't be a single digit with an ugly swing, just remind them how David Feherty described Jim Furyk's swing. Your recent pitch and putt video inspired me to work on my short game - shot 58 and 55 this weekend for 18 holes (1844 yards, par 54). Missed a lot of birdie putts but very happy with the score and 12 and 13 GIR. Time to take it back to a long course and see if I can keep it going.

Some friends and I had a super aggressive marshal ruin a round for us this year. First, the starter sent us off fifteen minutes late. That's no problem at all. We finished our front nine 2h15m after our scheduled tee time, when we were accosted by the angry marshal. He chewed us out about pace of play for a solid ten minutes on the tee box of the par 3 10th, then stopped us again as we left the green and berated us for another ten minutes. By the time we were finally able to get him to shut tf up and leave so we could tee off, the group that had been 2 full holes behind us was now waiting for us to tee off. I mentioned it at the pro shop after the round, hoping they would talk to the angry old man and prevent him from ruining other people's overpriced round. They didn't care. Even though we finished our round 4h15m after our tee time, despite the late start, despite the extreme delay caused by the marshal. Just to be clear, this was not on a fantastic private course we were invited to play where we were holding members up. This was on a public course with poor to mediocre conditions, and we had enough space behind us to watch an episode of Fawlty Towers without interrupting anyone's pace of play. If anyone reading this is in eastern Massachusetts, do yourself a favor, don't golf in Holliston. There are plenty of other golf courses in the area that cost less, are much better designed and kept, and actually have friendly, helpful staff.

@@NotAScratchGolfer I have a 10-15 yard fade so I aim left and it all comes into the middle. On wedges or shorter irons I aim left edge of the green and look for the middle of the green. As long as you can do it all the time then don't try and change to something that's uncomfortable and un-natural. The key to start lowering handicaps is knowing your yardages for every club. So many people you ask don't know the answer or they say "oh about 140, 150 or 155 if I really catch one". That's a huge difference and massive for hitting a GIR or coming up 10 yards short. Once you have your yardages down you can then look at the short game and putting to shave more strokes off.

While Northland is known for its great conditions, management doesn't managed the golf course / tee times well, which leads to Marshall yapping at every single tee group despite everyone being backed up and waiting for the group in front. 1) Its a mountain course, yet it sets an unrealistic "pace of play" at 4 hours (see scorecard). This is a 4.5 hours course at minimum for the avg golfer. 2) There's 2 par 4s with no cart access (yet on day of play, there's usually a few more). 3) Hole 7 is badly design with cart path being only 1 cart width wide (with 6 inch curbs on each side), thus power carts have to follow each other (with no chance to pass) despite everyone hitting different length of tee shots. The bottom line is that, the course sets itself up as a course for golfers who can hit every fairways and have no need to look for the occasional ball. If you are avg golfer that loses the occasional ball, or doesn't hit every shot well, expect the Marshall to be on you by hole #4 golfnorthlands.com/pace-of-play/ golfnorthlands.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/236029_NorthlandsGolf_ScoreCard_PROOF.pdf

Couldn't agree more re: the 7th hole. It's the lowlight of the golf course. Generally speaking, I'd rather a course be a little too strict re: pace rather than too liberal. The key to me is that they're at least polite about it. At least our encounter with the marshal that day was pleasant.

New viewer. Nice course. Short game let you doen a little and some of those chips should have been stiff for tap ins. Great round though and nearly saved it on the back 9 👏👏👏👍⛳️🏌♂️

Welcome! Indeed, a few letdowns out there today, but I've played enough to not be crushed by a score like this. It gets much worse :p
