This is the best way to learn. Read in spanish. Most words are similar. Then you realize you just have to fill in the blanks. It forces you to focus on the meaning rather the pronunciation. That comes with time .

I have been speaking Spanish everyday for 14 years, sometimes I still find it difficult to understand certain slang or jokes, I sometimes find explaining complicated things or stories challenging and still make mistakes, my accent is not perfect either. Despite this people always congratulate my Spanish so it can't be bad. What I am tryi g to say is there is no way you can learn a language properly in 3 weeks, even 14 years later there will be loads of room for improvement.
@arieroskam4000
@arieroskam4000 5 жыл бұрын
Aldo Zilli if you’ve been ‘learning” spanish for for as long as 14 years and still haven’t really mastered the language, it’s because you have been learning hard enough, or effectively. If one really puts their mind to it and learns in an extremely efficient and effective manner then you can absolutely learn most of a language in 3-6 months, your 14 years is not really a legitimate benchmark.

People calling it a scam. It’s not going to make you fluent but you can be basic conversational in bars and restaurants and similar in that time. Not perfect sentences either but you could probably get your point across. It doesn’t take years to become conversational otherwise polyglots would all be super old

How many of these people already had experience of romance languages and have already learnt a foreign language? It took me years to learn Spanish because it was my first foreign language. I can understand written Portuguese, French and Italian but I haven't learnt these languages. Thus I think this test is very misleading. A fairer test would be to get them to learn a completely foreign language in three weeks, like to get a Romance speaker to learn a Sinitic language in three weeks. Barring a couple of savants, they wouldn't have a chance.

Non-sense. I've got 11 years of formal Spanish learning, years of speaking Spanish professionally with natives and CANNOT follow native speakers on most subjects. Live in a Spanish speaking country for at least a year while/after studying 5 years is basic to mastering a foreign language like a native. Esperanto is the only language that is half as difficult to master.
