I tried to do streaming using the the software encoder. You'd see no frame drops since the 8 core processor is a monster. The bit rate was set to 5000 kbps. Great content btw!

Giftson thanks, Nvenc doesn’t have much of a performance hit, but yeah you could do it with software and 5k. If you haven’t I’d appreciate a subscribe, it goes a long way.

I have hp omen 15 ryzen 5 1660ti 8gb ram and as soon as I start streamlabs OBS frames drop from 120 to Direct 20 I tried stream with OBS too but same issue plz help

Are you using Nvenc encoding because it doesn’t sound like you are

What cable and port did you use to connect to the external monitor? Is it USB type C to HDMI 2?

I got the R5+ 1660 ti model. When I connect it to my Samsung 24" curve monitor there is a noticeable amount or current on the metal body of the laptop. Was wondering if you experience this as well. Hp says it's my monitor issue since it has a 2 pin plug so the laptop is acting as ground. I don't think so because it's not the same with my other laptop.

Teku 96 I am not experiencing that but my guess is either the HDMI cable or HDMI input on the laptop. I’d try a new cable and see if that helps, if not def the laptop.

@@JeffTheITGuy I've actually tried multiple cables. The weird thing is, when I use the same hdmi wires to connect to my TV there isn't any static. So I am led to believe that it's as hp says. A monitor power cable issue.

Teku 96 ahhh then yes I’d agree, I just have misread your first message. If it does it with the monitor with different cables then doesn’t do it on another monitor or source with different cables that leaves the monitor my friend.

So i m from India! Here we have hp omen with ryzen 5 4600h with 1660ti! N one more lapi is from asus tuf a15 with rtx 3060 n ryzen 7 5800h with a difference of 200$ so will i be able to stream n game all AAA tier games on 1080p with 1660ti or shall i go with 3060 lapi! Tight on budget though!

Using Nvenc in OBS, it should be ok.

@@mateoarangurenabascal3907 Nvenc puts the streaming load on the GPU, only works for Nvidia GPUs like the 2060 that you have.

you should be good with that, but it really mostly depends on the game you're playing if you want triple digit frame rates.
