Having watched Simon's video where he discusses the background for the Simon line (and throws the Time Lapse a few times), and then the video he did with Anthony Bodanza, even he was surprised how overstable the ones he brought for him and Anthony to throw were. In his Simon Line background video, the Time Lapse would flip up and turn, before fading out (but only because he's Simon). In the one with Anthony he had to use a slight anhyzer release to get the biggest flight out of those discs. Interesting if you have the time! I'm a lowly noodle arm so there's no way I'm doing a 12 speed justice . . . unless it's a seasoned DX Destroyer. That said I think the Time Lapse looks gorgeous, so I wouldn't be opposed to picking one up when the stock run lands :)

Totally! Simon said the protos he got (the ones that actually said only prototype on them that he threw in the initial videos) were significantly less stable. Was definitely surprised and am excited for the stock releases. I'm sure if he has any say, he'll make sure they'll be more user friendly to everyone, but we'll have to see

I plan on getting the time-lapse in regular run. . . mainly because no one has the collectable for a decent price in my area, and simon said the production run would probably be less of a meat hook than the Proto line.

Well MVP themselves said this is a rare case, they usually never even release the prototypes to the public so this is definitely an extremely limited run mainly focused on collectors. Usually even limited edition first runs are a significantly larger starting quantity. Prototypes that don't go to internal testing team typically get ground up for their r2 plastic, but since pictures of the PDGA approval got leaked before they could get taken down, they decided to go ahead and release these.

Not a collector so just looking forward to a stock run and give this driver a test. I throw strictly MVP so this will hopefully slot in as my most stable driver. Proton Photon is currently there but it is so flat that I'd like to see if the Time Lapse can be stable with some glide to kick the Photon out of the bag

Throwing mostly RHFH, I find the Defy as one of my favorites, going from a mixed bag with Wraith as my go to distance driver. Instead of using a dumping fade Photon in a headwind, I hope the Time-Lapse can fill that spot and give me a longer fade. Gonna get one or two stock ones for sure, but I do like to try and get a FR aswell.

I managed to get one today at the MVP Open. It has such cool swirls, but it's totally just a Destroyer. I definitely bought it cause I love Simon and got caught in the hype. Lol.

I'll probably pick one up and slot it in as something I know will get left no matter what, but it definitely wouldn't be my go-to for now. In that sense, I think it could be useful for anybody, we're just not gonna be using it the way Simon would. As for the protos, I'm not gonna really hunt one down, but if I see one I'll snag it for the collection for sure.

So what I'm hearing is beat it in like every other destroyer? From my experience with MVP/Axiom if we were to standardize the flight numbers with other companies, add a +1 to their turn/fade to match single molds. So a 12 5 -1 3 is more like a 12 5 0 4 which is closest to PD2 (12 4 0 4).

While this disc is not for me (I dont go above a 9 speed), I do believe the stock runs are meant to be less stable. The prototype is definitely beefy though. I'll stick to my Virus, and Falk. I do love my Vortex too, that is a disc I believe is slept on quite a bit.

I have a very modest arm, but if I can get a stock run Time Lapse at a lower weight, which MVP often does very well, Ill probably have to grab one as my overstable driver. Im happy to support both Simon and MVP with a purchase, even if I dont use it much.

My time lapse is just a tad less stable than my star destroyer. And the destroyer is slightly beat in. If thrown flat i get a small flip out of it. It will hold for a sec on full power. Everyone says they are so beefy. Apparently not all of them. I can maybe throw around 400ft. On a good day😂. So I would recommend, especially if you like a destroyer. Maybe not for beginners.

My power pretty much tops out at a Wraith instead of Destroyer, so I don't even carry a 12 speed. I'm not going to pay whatever aftermarket price the prototypes will go for since it'll be unusable for me, but maybe if they have a run in fission plastic.

I was hoping it would be more understandable than it appears to be. However I’m able to get the destroyer and dd3 to flip considerably and throw 450-550 so I think I’ll be able to get it to flip up after it beats in a bit

In my experience Neutron is the most stable plastic. And I think they do their prototyping in proton plastic. So this could be a plastic issue. Only collectors but 40dollar discs so no big harm done dumping the OS run now.

Why wouldn’t it be for him it’s something I think he has gauge his success by since it was one of the major factors in his move to MVP so I think he has earned the first run to be for himself! He gives so much of himself to the fans already, so to all the haters we all know are making videos right now about the price and how bad the disc is I say suck it! He earned it

Zeus has exact same numbers. Discraft has always had the most consistent in flight than other Manufacturers.

Not a collector so no need of the prototypes (recently picked up a $50 SL Mindbender to throw everyday, not to put on a shelf) . If the production run is less OS I might try one, but I'm a mile above sea level so it's likely still going to be too overstable (as are Destroyers). I prefer the likes of the Innova Shryke and Prodigy D2, D3, D4, which are probably all too flippy for me at sea level at my current power level.

Yeah, manufacturers are quickly reaching my price point cutoff. No way in hell is a disc worth $40 just because it has someone’s name on it. Hell, I remember buying my first champion plastic disc thinking “$15? Holy crap, I better never lose this thing.” $30 a couple years ago seemed crazy, but $40 is insane.

I started with Innova 40 years ago and I'm sticking with them. I have never thrown a disc farther than my Destroyer. I know someone who owns a disc golf store, so I have tried many drivers. MVP makes good discs, but the ones I bought I gave to my son.

Sorry but when I heard reliable over-stability coming out of the mouth of Simon that did not sound like beginner friendly in the least. I would say that I throw a bit further than average, often around the 400' mark but most are 360'-380' but yes I have gotten lucky with a few and pushed them about 430-450'. Typical is, 360'-380' on a golf type line. And the only discs I use above a 9 speed are -2/2 or less stable, or it's my 138 gram blizzard champ boss and I know I'm sacrificing distance to get that stability. Nothing about a even more stable Calvin destroyer was appealing to me, and it's MVP so I could take the disc to an electric sander for 10 min and it still wouldn't be "beat in". This sounds like a disc for the guys who have golf lines of 450-550' cough cough ( just the pros).

I wonder if there will be more consistency across runs with the Time Lapse at MVP. One of the biggest complaints is the inconsistency of Destroyers. I'm assuming MVP will be dealing with the same challenges Innova does.

With this time lapse you too can throw 600'. *** *** when in good conditions with food form in an open field with the right nose and launch angles the correct amount of hyzer, tons of practice, incredible athleticism, the ability to throw the disc at say 80 mph and spin it at the same time say 1500-2000 rpm.

Kindof silly to compare any disc to a destroyer, especially while saying it's a clone of DD3. My DD3 is my second most flippy driver I own, second only to my DX destroyer. It's more flippy than mh Star Mamba, no joke. My most OS Driver I own is... a Destroyer, and my second most OS driver is... a DD3.... with about 30-40 in the middle. So basically you're saying that the Time Lapse is exactly the same as one of my destroyers but the total opposite of one of my other destroyers. Not really helpful. Innova discs should never be used as a baseline for any comparison.

This video sounds like a "hater's" take, and not super relevant. Everyone knows it's going to be overstable, and most players don't need it, but that shouldn't stop anyone from buying it and throwing it. If you're take is accurate then no one needs to buy any product marketed by top-tier pro athletes. People buy this stuff because it makes them feel good and helps them emulate their favorite pros. Simply making a video that basically says "you're not as good as the pro who made this disc" is bad content creation. A better take is stating the obvious: this disc is a 12 speed and most people won't need it, here's how to make the best of slow arm speed if you just want to have fun. Good luck. Stop shitting on everyone's fun.

I'm a big Simon fan, love watching him play, just evaluating the flight of this disc and giving our opinion based on that, but I understand where you're coming from, some people will be able to use the proto Time Lapse but most will want to put it on the shelf and that's great for the people that like collecting, more power to them.

Its really hard to watch a channel compare discs unless its on a pros channel or a channel that has had lessns from pros, the odin clip he rounded, he armed the crap out of it with very little spin and it was so nose down that it was gonna take the anny he gave it in the hand to the extreme. Now if this was foundation trevor nor hunter would ever say this is the odin and it flies like this, thats too absolute for them, its more like this is the odin and this is how it flies for me is what hunter and trevor always say. Hopefully you learn that has a passion for discs, being a high level am and being a pro all have different levels of skill so has a passion for discs shouldnt be rating discs unless they put the disc claimer simon put which is this disc wont be for everybody, but im surr everyone could find a use. I bet $100 that your u bagged either a firebird wraith or destroyer when you started even though you didnt have form or power to throw them, but you did find a use right
