'Integrity' does not embrace and confer with those who have perverted the gospel of Christ. Rc and mormons are NOT friends of Christ but they are those who adhere to 'another' Jesus and 'another' gospel. Where is the integrity of holding hands with those who are enemies of Christ?
@ljppkggfs
@ljppkggfs 5 жыл бұрын
@@gigiis526 I am certain you do not you doubt Jesus's integrity just because he hung out with sinners and tax collectors. The Pharisees did. The self-righteous did. But how else are those who are lost to be saved? Jesus said "But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” (Matthew 9:13) He also said "Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’" And what is God's will but to love Him and to love our neighbor, no matter whether our neighbors are Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, atheist or whatever their theology. Do you not agree that we are called even to love our enemies (Matthew 5:43-48)? If that is so, then we ought not judge others or shun them but show God's love to them. In this way, we bear fruit for God's kingdom. I believe that is what you want also. Fear not.

Sir, This series touched my soul, 'spoke' to me in ways that made Jesus and the gospels more touchable, real. I found myself moved to tears, laughter and the whole range of my emotions. It added a depth to my understanding of the gospel characters. Thank You for your openness, your humility, your sincerity and for addressing the issues mentioned in such a good spirit. We all I can safely assume have a prayer in our hearts for all of you who chose to live the Gospel of Christ in such perilous conditions. Like the 2 young men from Myanmar I met a few yrs ago. They went to India to study to become ministers so they could go home and risk it all to preach the Gobspel of Jesus Christ. May God watch over all of you. First, let me say, as a film maker for 18 years, a believer for 31 years, I LOVE THIS SHOW! Mission accomplished my brothers and sisters! Every episode either has me in tears, or deep in thought. Also, seeing it live in front of me makes it so real and also gives you "Ah Ha" moments. You have thread staying true to the word and also showing things as they would have happened in a real life setting. You have thread that needle with absolute precision . To see the reactions of the back ground as well as the disciples is so real, and so perfect. We often forget just how incredible these things would have been to those that observed them. The "shock and awe" has been perfectly captured. Jonathan Roumie's performance is truly inspired. My wife was in episode 4 of season 2 as the Roman Precept's wife. My wife isn't a believer yet, but God is working on her heart. She sat down with him the day they were shooting and had a talk with him. She talked about how it must be an awesome responsibility as an actor it must be to be Jesus, he agreed. Since my wife is the Number 1 acting coach in Salt Lake City, they talked about a few out acting things, like how to play scenes where he is present and listening to his scene partners, as an Omniscient Being! Hahaha. I thought it was hysterical. Great casting. His eyes have so much compassion in them. A certain amount of viewers are in "AWE" over his lines and delivery because they are baked in as he is playing the Word of God. I find myself hanging on every word, as if Jonathan is actual JC. I remind myself that it is only a show, but sometimes I just want to watch and hear what the still small Voice is saying to me through your writing and through Jonathan's dead on performance of Yeshua Ha'Meschia. I truly wish I could have been a part of something like this. I always thought my years in Hollywood would lead to something big like this. Alas, I am in a wheelchair now and retired wondering what is next. Finally, if you weren't catching flak from the "magpies" you wouldn't know you were on the right path. But you have your confirmation right there. The cry of my heart, must be the same as yours...to hear the words spoken "well done good and faithful servant". You have all earned that! I will send support when I can. God bless you Dallas! My wife said you were a really strong and very "actor friendly director", which is a great thing! May you go from victory to victory! You are undoubtedly on a mission from the Father, HE will bring you across the finish line. He will PROVIDE! Thank you for doing this!

Although I do not agree with several of The Chosen series scriptural choices where theatrical exceptions are concerned. I do believe this is a move by God. I mean think about it,, never before has so many different religions from different spiritual cultures been able to come together and allowing for the Gospel of Peace, the Mystery of the Gospel and the Good News of Salvation through Christ alone to be shared with so many. I mean you have Christians, Catholics and Mormons (LDS) watching the SAME BIBLICAL SHOW and then talking with each other about it. That alone is a miracle folks! This is a spiritual move by our Lord here in the final moments of the end times, to call as many lost sheep 🐑 to Him before He returns to take us home with Him. However, there have been some red flags... Although I've felt some of the theatrical exceptions that have been made are biblically based, the first episode was most diffently NOT biblically or culturally based. First take Mary Magdalena being protrayed as a prostitute for example...the passage in the Book of Luke 7:37-38, talks about a certain sinner (which our western culture has labeled her sin as prostitution, although there is NO BIBLICAL PROOF of this assumption) The Gospels never refer to Mary as Lilith. The creators of The Chosen probably chose this name because it is associated with demons in Jewish traditions. By noting how Mary is in the "Red Quarter", The Chosen is implying that she is a prostitute. The Bible never suggests Mary Magdalene was a prostitute. However, some biblical interpreters mistakenly labeled her as such because the story before Luke 8 is about a prostitute being forgiven. Over time, the label stuck and now many adaptations depict her this way, it's sad actually. Luke 7:37-38: 37 And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment, 38 And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment. 39 Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner. In fact, in John 12:1-3, we are told the woman in Luke 7, is actually Mary the sister of Lazarus: 12 Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead. 2 There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him. 3 Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment. The label “prostitute” for Mary Magdalene, has stuck fast for centuries, ever since Pope Gregory I (first) incorrectly pronounced her a “sinful woman” (a prostitute) in the year 591, defying evidence to the contrary in the Gospels. Another "oops" was the theatrical exception to have Simon Peter fishing on the Sabbath day. Nope, not culturally correct because that would have been social suicide and he very likely would have been stoned as it was a stoning offense. Then to have Simon Peter turn around and go after Matthew (a fellow Jew) who was a tax collector and muched despised by fellow Jews, doesn't make sense when Peter's Sabbath day fishing trip was so the more socially unacceptable. Lastly, I have a problem when there is such opportunity to share the Goid News with so many unsaved people and yet The Chosen series doesn't promote this. Why aren't they telling people that they are sinners in need of a Savior and that Jesus Christ is the only Son of God and He shed His perfect Blood which covers all their sins past, present and future? Then encourage people to call on the name of Jesus Christ to be saved from their sins, then Christ will send the Holy Spirit to reside with in them forever. 🙏 That's the true job of every Christian...share the Good News of Christ and salvation through Him and Him alone.

I've seen season 1 a bunch of times and had watched season 2 the new edition several times actually follow along with my Bible King James version and I don't see anything added the only thing that I see added are some situations that are showing the human part but Jesus when he has a cut on his arm and he meant it and when he prays when he goes to sleep at night when he was by himself doesn't show in the Bible what Jesus prayed before he went to sleep. I realize that there were thousands of other writings that we could have but were destroyed by the Romans after when Jesus had left and went to heaven to sit on the right hand of power with with the father I'm using a microphone so it doesn't capitalize a lot of words but it's a good movie as soon as I have some extra money I want to share in with the sharing of the movies I consider that tithing because it goes to the kingdom of God to share the word and this message to the world a very very good work indeed

This is one of your best and maybe the most important vlog post yet. I hope it will cause people, including myself, to pause for a moment and ponder your words. As I have stated before in several of my other posts, this show has God's fingerprint all over, even if it isn't inspired or spirit-breathed like the scriptures. Therefore it is only natural for the enemy to try and sow discord and animosity among believers and fans of the show. This vlog will certainly not silence the harshest critics of the project or those who revel in tearing down anything good. Nor will it convince those who are narrow-minded, rigid, unmovable, and overly legalistic in their respective narrow theological view and faith tradition. There will always be modern-day equivalents to the Pharisees of Jesus' day. I will continue to support The Chosen in any way I can, as long as you and the team continue to follow your current path and inspiration. God bless you and all involved.

Dallas, thank you for this video. I have approached this show keeping two things in mind - the Gospels are about the message of Jesus. Character development was not a focus of the Gospel writers. Second, John wrote that if everything Jesus did was written down that the world could not contain the scrolls. I have no problem with someone rooting their narrative in the Gospels, staying true to their spirit, while exploring possibilities that were in the “could have happened” realm. BTW, I come from a religious tradition (which I have since left) that are the modern day Pharisees. I have been adrift for years now. This has brought me back, no introduced me, to the Jesus that has always spoken to me but which was obscured by the “offspring of vipers” with which I was associated. For that you have my deepest appreciation.

Lewis in these situations and use the metaphor of the house with the great hall and its various doors. The hall contains our non-denominational commonalities. The things we all agree upon before going into specific rooms. As Lewis told us in Mere Christianity, if someone chooses a different room than us, they need our prayers (not our condemnation). That is one of the rules common to the whole house.

I’m a older East Texas country boy. I love Jesus and I don’t worry so much about denominational walls, we agree that “ALL” need Jesus and The Chosen does just that, creating a hunger to study the Gospels and all of God,s Word. The way these stories come alive, as you watch the journey of each of the disciples and Jesus. Like a bug to a light it will draw men unto Him and it should cause Christians to get stronger and for nonbelievers to become believers. Pray for each actor, writer, the directors and all involved with this project to grown in the Lord, to complete The Chosen with passion and the hand of the Lord upon them all.

Thanks Dallas for being strong enough to do this, takes a strong person to overcome criticism in doubt and sticking to your beliefs. I just finished every episode. I am fairly a new Christian of 6 years. Now I may be skewered for this but, your show has put a human aspect to the bible stories. Your stories are less cold and more warm. That was always the struggle with reading the Gospels. Now I know I may offend someone but, this show has showed me through your artistic view how human all the desciples were. I am not dismissing the bible it is still my #1 source of God's word but, this show allows me to see just how human they were. Thank you for this show and thank God for seeing you through this project. I look forward to the next season. God bless you and thank you again.

It was very refreshing seeing how the emotions of first century believers comes to the surface..as we get a glimpse of what we would be feeling if we ACTUALLY emptied ourselves of their lives as they did..and that, is why the criticism is coming. God is calling to us thru the shows to understand what that looks like!

@carolynedgar1090
@carolynedgar1090 5 жыл бұрын
@@gigiis526 I will refer to instances in Scripture..the Gospels are full of descriptions of the Disciple's and Jesus' emotions..Peter's fear, Mary's sadness and weeping at the Master's feet, the indignant Disciples who felt children and blind people were a waste of Jesus' time (until the Lord showed them otherwise), the subtle uncertainty that was conveyed when the Disciples asked Jesus "what will we receive, we have left everything to follow You". John the Baptist's need for assurance that Jesus was the One promised... it's all there. And what about Jesus' emotions? It's recorded He was indignant and surprised (if you could call it that) a time or two Himself, and moved to grief over Lazarus' death. Jesus spoke of His compassion on a crowd in Matt 15:32. There is not a shadow of a doubt the disciples experienced wonder and delight, total amazement at the miracles they saw...the Scriptures say they voiced their amazement "even the wind and waves obey Him". It's there, just not the hour by hour stuff that we know that they would have experienced with Him, that wouldn't have been chronicled in the Scriptures 20-30 years later. But certainly, a delight for us all to view (Chosen shows) the imagined interactions of living and walking with the King of Kings😍😃 His Majesty would certainly stir every emotion known to man. It is amazing to think that Peter might actually have been absolutely giddy having been told he would be a "Fisher of Men." And a pure delight to my soul, I might add.🙂

This is her husband. I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ or Latter-day Saints and I love this show. I feel the Spirit of God in this work. The "made up" dialog and back stories, while artistic and not Biblical, are realistic and allow me to relate personally and emotionally to the characters before the Christ comes into their lives. Then when Christ says to them "Follow me" I feel the impact on them and on me. I appreciate how the human side of Jesus is depicted. He was a person, a carpenter, he was raised by Joseph and Mary, he laughed, he played, he stubbed his toes, and he had a sense of humor. I also feel the divine side of Jesus is very well done. It's as if in a moment Jesus stops being a normal human, looks you in the eye, and solemnly calls down the powers of heaven as he performs a miracle. Well done team. (Also, I'm happy to see you're using my church's Jersusalem set in Utah to film season two.)

Thank you, thank you, thank you SO MUCH. I am such a fan. At 65 years of age, I have been a Christian and follower of our precious Lord with which we hold a mutual love. I was saved in an Evangelical United Brethren church, which later joined with the Methodist church to become the United Methodist church. I have been a Pentecostal, Baptist, and Methodist as well. My journey has led me, surprisingly to the Orthodox faith where I feel finally at home. That being said; I ABSOLUTELY love the Chosen! Please keep it coming. My wife is a Seventh Day Adventist, and although I am a Sunday worshiper, I do value the seventh day sabbath for rest and intentional focus on the spiritual. We watched an episode of The Chosen tonight. What a wonderful way to open Sabbath! One more thing. My wife and I are unable to work. I am recovering from treatment for tonsils cancer (am in remission at this time, praise God), so am not working. Although I feel guilty at this time, I have been viewing the series without having to pay. What a delightful gift. Thank you so so much. Please continue in your artistic passion. Great series... Let me say this, “The Passion of The Christ” , stuck strictly to scripture , right down the the language, mostly Hebrew and Mel Gibson was Catholic , I’m a follower of Jesus Christ and I thought it was the best “Bible” movie ever made , and like The Chosen , Mel Gibson paid for the making of the movie out of his own pocket , therefore Hollyweird hands weren’t involved. That being said “The Chosen” , in my opinion , is as good a series as The Passion was a movie. Can’t wait for season 2 . And thanks for running The Shepherd through Christmas.

The night we went it was packed, nary a dry eye in the house. Grown men and all , we were bawlin’ like babies. Of course I live in the Bible Belt part of this country and had heard preachers tell of Christ sufferings countless times but all those preachers put together never conveyed it like Mel Gibson did in 2 hours. Though Mel Gibson’s not a perfect man , I truly believe God had his hand on The Passion. And by the way , your just a baby😂.

This explains why the quality of The Chosen is far above that of many similar productions. Plus, I'm convinced that God has a long game plan for many of those involved in this project who are not (yet) believers. His fingerprints are all over this. And I'll be praying for this project (along with continuing to spread the word about it).

I just saw a video of a "pastor" who says The Chosen is re-writing scripture and many negative comments. This show has given me the incentive and courage to open the Bible and read the scripture. This format also helps me to interpret the true meaning of the scripture. I was tempted to write negative comments on this "pastor's" video particularly in response to his comments about Catholicism etc but I refrained as I don't want to participate in a negative volley of what could turn into insults and behavior such as his. Thank you for your work on this project.

Dallas, I have been so deeply blessed by this show - and the Holy Spirit has really used specific scenes to speak to me. Like you, I went to a Bible college and have devoted my life to scripture study. I was a missionary for a while, and have worked in various ministries throughout my life. Where "The Chosen" is concerned, it's definitely a matter of people taking it within its intended context. "The Chosen" is, in many ways the "coolest" streaming show out there. It's authentic, beautiful and powerful. The Lord is using the show - and all of you involved - in mighty ways. Thank you for putting so much thought into every scene. May the Lord bless you all - and continue to provide, step by step, for this amazing project!

If this show did not have the Lord’s blessing placed upon it then, people would not be drawn to read and study the word of God or even accept Him in their life as Lord and savior. To everyone involved in this show, THANK YOU for all you do and for letting God use you to His purposes.

This is Donna K. I am an investor and the Holy Spirit spurred me on...I kept hearing in my heart "invest, invest, invest". This was after several weeks. I talked it over with my husband and with our adult daughters and they said this is so cool to be a part of this project. So, as I was handing out the videos for free; as a gift to an older associate pastor and a millennial worship youth pastor, I received 2 different reactions. The older one, of which I respect their knowledge of the bible and like to step outside of the box, kind of looked at me with great apprehension (I think she accepted the gift out of respect for me); while, the millennial worship youth pastor was more excited. I expected excitement from both, but, Dallas, you cannot win them all. Your conviction is for you to task it out via what the Holy Spirit is moving you toward. These days seem to be like the Pharisees and Sadducees during the critical Yeshua years while here on earth. God is the creator and He calls on each of us to create...keeping our eyes on the prize. Many blessings and we look forward to 2020...full vision and speak what is not seen.

You present Jesus the man. A relatable approachable man. Although 100% God , He's 100% man. I wondered sometimes, "How'd He do that?" Like turning the water into wine. That decision was so much more than wine... it was the literal beginning of His journey to the Cross. It was so packed with humanity and I saw it more from that perspective. It was full and deep and beautiful. I thank you so much for pressing in and revealing Jesus in a fresh way. Truly a good tool for the Lost BUT and even better one for Believers! Don't be swayed by men's opinions but please God and Him alone. I am so looking forward to the next season. Thank you again brother!
