Can you use Aluminum Foil in the Air Fryer? (FIRE DANGER!)

Can you put aluminum foil or parchment paper inside of your air fryer? I don't recommend using it, because the risk is that the foil or paper gets stuck inside the fan of your air fryer. This can cause damage to you air fryer or can even start a fire!

Because when people use air fryer, there's usually food inside of it which would hold the foil down and there would be 0 danger to the air fryer itseslf. You just put a piece of foil inside of the fryer (with no food on top of it) to prove you can't use it, which is WRONG. Can't believe i typed all this.

I was gonna make a roast in there, saw something that said if it’s browning too fast to use foil. But looking at this I think I will just not do that and invest in an air fryer pan liner and use the conventional oven to start roasting.

I think you are testing method is unrealistic. Food is going to be sitting on the foil hence the foil is not going to move it will stay in one place.

I wrap my corn on the cob and my fish in aluminum foil. It’s great. Can’t blow around and keeps the food moist.

I use foil under the tray, it saves a bit of the cleaning at least, but I wouldn't recommend putting it above the tray as the heat wouldn't circulate as well and perhaps there's a danger there, plus the food wouldn't cook as well potentially.

I carefully line the outside pan with foil. Air can still flow around and through the mesh rack. I put enough foil so that it can be anchored over the back edge. I press the foil into the star formation in the bottom. When it cools I dispose of everything. A steak can make a huge amount of grease which can be easily discarded.

I want to show what happens when the foil can blow around in the tray. There are a lot of cases of a kitchen fire in an air fryer because of aluminum foil or baking paper that got stuck in the fan. Of course, no one will only air fry foil. But it could happen that your ingredients are too light and slide of the foil or paper, that could cause a fire. Better safe than sorry!

I use it to minimize clean up also was paper. The paper will singe on the edges. For me it depends on which fryer I am using.

I nearly set mine on fire tonight, I put some fajita wrap bread in the air fryer, on top of foil. It got stuck to the cooking grills at the top. Lucky I checked, when I smelt burning, it fell down, when I pulled the basket out, all burned.

Try to cover the marinated chicken breast with aluminum foil at the top then add marinated vegetables on the top of the aluminum foil then cook. This is a good try to have juicy chicken breast and fat free and cooked vegetables .

Well what if you only use half the space so there is air flow or wrap the food in it? Plus I don’t know why you would use an example of just putting aluminum foil in by itself?? I don’t know anyone cooking aluminum foil by itself… you could say oh what if they preheat it I guess but.. usually when people preheat things they have the food holder that has the aluminum on it.. because that’s where the food is being held and you’re gonna slide it in once it’s ready
