Can You Use WD-40 as ENGINE OIL?

Why would any sane person do this to a still running vehicle? You might still get thousands of miles out of that car.

I did something like this to my truck. I removed 2 quarts of oil and added 2 quarts of WD 40. I did this because I felt like my oil pump in my Ford f150 4.6l V8 was sluggish and my hydrolic lifters were as well so I tried this. The truck had 175000 miles on it. It has 275000 now. I made one huge mistake. I didn't remove all of the WD 40 because I forgot to recharge the filter. I changed it when I drained the oil and WD 40 but I had planned to run fresh oil in and change the filter again to make sure it was all out. I didn't. I went up a nice sized MTN and lost oil pressure. I turned around and went home, changed the oil again and it's been fine ever since. Just make sure you have two oil changes if you do this. Get all of whatever you use as a flush out. My truck is still pulling loads no problem.

Inside the motor is going to be supper clean. But should'nt run the car for long, and the drained WD 40 is going to be dirty.

It would be interesting if you take w40 out, can an angine be flushed clean with w40 then put new oil, a guess would it be a safe flush engine insted of sea foam??

Spray some WD-40 on your headers and you're going to see it evaporating that's what's happening inside your engine
