I used Toronto Pearson last month and it was smooth. I think people just need to be genuine and get their docs handy. Docs like return flight ticket, hotel reservations, bank statements, etc should be printed. And of course don’t leave any implicating messages on your phone and be confident. Remember that Canada don’t do interviews before the grant or deny visas. You have to do the interview at the point of entry and if you can’t satisfy them with your answers, you’ll be denied entry

See, you’re visiting and not coming to work. Otherwise you could have come with a work permit. So, regardless of what the law says about converting to a work permit if a company has LMIA license to employ you and change your visitor’s visa to a work permit inside Canada, you must fulfill your obligation at the point of entry as a visitor only by answering their questions and convinced them you don’t have other motives. If you can’t convince them, you’ll be denied entry

I think it’s just the normal thing, questions are asked in every port of entry, I came into Canada about a week ago and was asked exactly same questions in Toronto airport all you need is have all your documents handy and be bold in answering all the questions you are asked and be genuine. I later found out that coming over as a student would be much better than just visiting but even as that I had visiting Visa already. Stop the foolishness. I had my phone check at Toronto Airport in 2006 when I flew in from NYC due to my response to questions from immigration officers. I was a resident of US and my friend in Canada was undocumented, so i was hesitant to provide information about my visit. I had similar thinking then yelling at the officer as a Nigerian, but after 20years in US, I understand reason for it. If your intention for coming into the country is good, you will have no issues responding to immigration questions. Having a visa does not guarantee you entry. The purpose of the visa is to give you the opportunity to knock on the door and ask for entry. Then the officer has the right to make that decision 'yea or nay'. All of the information you are giving is nothing new. I am living here for 35 years and those questions have always been asked. My siblings have been in Canada for 60 yrs...the questions have always been the same. If certain countries' natives have a high rate of illegal overstay, people coming from those countries will be thoroughly vetted. They are lucky the officer let them know upfront, that illegitimate overstay means rejection for the next application. Usually they do not give that advice, and when you apply the next time after overstaying, you are rejected without explanation. If you want to stay longer and you have no schisms going you apply. That's all.
