Unfortunately that may never happen. The citizens of the Lower Mainland and most of Vancouver Island have always fancied themselves as being intellectually superior to the “commoners” in the rest of BC. I lived in Alberta since 1980 but I had the misfortune of living in BC during the Dave Barrett NDP days in 1972 through to 1976. During those years in my opinion a big part of BC culture mired itself irrevocably into the typical NDP mantra of taxing the hell out of value creation private business enterprises at the expense of Union placating as well as Government regulations. In my opinion through the clarity of living within the Alberta advantage……BC is almost a loss cause…..certainly in the LMD as well as the Island.

Yet local police and the City here are implementing, like Kelowna, an Inadmissable Patron program uniting with the BC Restaurant and Food Service Association, and Restaurants Canada. The Rational: barring individuals associated with organized crime, gangs and drug trade from restaurants and hotels. Defined further: anyone whose lifestyle, associations pose a risk to public safety, ether directly or from third parties... I feel this is a high risk, mostly likely Slippery Slope trick cause they couldn't control us all during their 1st Plandemic!

The thing is, Ontario is already a Conservative province and its provincial institutions are a mess in my opinion. I am a registered nurse, born and raised with much of my education in Canada, but was not allowed to practice in Ontario unless I heftily paid for retesting, which included a test I could speak English. This testing was under the auspices of Supports, Training, and Access to Regulated-Employment Services or STARS. This same group oversees training. HMM? This isn't a conflict of interest? Also, when the autoworkers lost COLA that was under the Federal Conservatives and Ontario Liberals, but when the $1.1 billion remaining loan was forgiven by the Liberals neither government pushed the workers get back their COLA. Of course the CAW (UNIFOR) should have been looking out for its members.
