Love your content brother! I just did a credit card video marathon through your channel after doing multiple hours of research on my own. You did a simple but comprehensive summary of the main heavy hitters and even pointed out some features I missed. I can see you're pretty set on the Cobalt, you brought it up in every single video haha. I've been a heavy credit card spender for years but never really looked into card features until now and I wonder how much I likely missed out on some big cashback and rewards. I'm now looking forward to spreading my spendings much more consciously, fully switching to Cobalt and another Visa Scene+ cashback on the side for places that don't accept Amex.

They've just halved the welcome bonus and increased minimum monthly spend by 50%. Previous bonus was 30,000pts/yr total= $500/month minimum spend, receive 2,500pts/month. now it's 15,000pts/yr total, minimum monthly spend $750 which will give you 1,250Pts/month.

Great video! Have a Cobalt card and its the best card for everyday Canadians like myself, by far. Point accumulation is crazy fast and being able to transfer points to Aeroplan & Marriott Bonvoy is a great flexible perk.

Recognizing that amex is not the most accepted card in Canada one needs to have at least on backup card. If the best benefit of the amex rewards is traveling what would be your suggestion for that best backup? Thanks

Aren’t AMEX welcome bonus points once in a lifetime so if you earned the once in a lifetime bonus, does that mean you can’t get bonus ever again for the rest of your life with the same card?

Appreciate the information. But since you mentioned 2024 in your title, I would recommend against it vuz a lot of perks and points information has changed for the Amex cobalt card. They downgraded the card which is sad.

Walmart does not take AMEX. That is the real reason. They only take VISA and MASTERCARD.

I'm a Canadian that just moved to the UK. All the travel credit cards in the UK seem terrible compared to Canada (nevermind US). I notice that if I make purchases with the Canadian credit cards, it says it's valid for purchases *within Canada*. Do you think it's still worth it for me to get a card like the Cobalt and basically only use it to pay for flights (I'm hoping to head home 2-3 times per year) and when I'm in Canada for ~2 months in the year? I guess what I'm asking is, do you know if I still collect travel points on the card if I purchase flights with it from the UK?

I don't spend enough to redeem enough points. I prefer the Gold card just for travel for only domestic flights and insurance. For 150.00, it's the same price as the Cobalt ultimately.

Hey. I'm a big fan of your videos, but I have got a question for you. I'm a university student that is 19 years old. 've got 2 credit cards already (bmo cashback, cibc areoplan). I really love building credit, and ľ'm managing to keep credit utilization around the 10% and always pay back on time. Do you think it would be worth it to apply for an amex cobalt? With all the benefits they offer and being able to save amex points for the future looks really exciting. My concerns are that I'm not sure if l' get approved because of my credit age. And if the $155 annual fee would cost more than I gain. (My credit score is 720)

Hey brother! At the end of the day it’s up to you, but if you’re really curious, you could try applying. If you get rejected for whatever reason, you could always simply try again in 6-12 months time. Totally up to you but I think it’s not a terrible idea to try! Good luck man 😁

Yeah. I used to have American Express, but then they started doing "White Privilege" training with their staff and i dropped the card. I'm all for equality and a level playing field, but making people feel guilty because of the color of their skin and stuff maybe their own ancestors did a hundred, two hundred years ago...nah bro. That's messed up. Woke companies are turning people off across industries and American Express lost me as a customer jumping onto the DEI bandwagon. People are people. We treat all people with respect and equality. Skin color is just melanin. That's the goal companies should push for and what id put my money into.
