I agree 💯 with Griffin . It's going to increase bureaucracy & costs without addressing the root cause of higher rents. Looking for an economic sense in a politician like Trudeau is like asking a blind person for directions !

This is not tenants bill of rights ..this is landlord bill of rights . By forcing rent payment towards credit score is a huge advantage for owners, On the other hand for renters history of rent ? What a joke ..wealthy landlords lobbying worked and portraying it as advantage for tenants is the biggest hypocrisy.

Most landlords already run a credit check and look at applicant scores/reports anyways.

Totally worthless measures, completely disconnected from the market. Politician bla bla, costing us more to pay for government jobs.

We are being attacked 24 hours a day by ambulance and fire truck sirens they did far more ,in addition to this they sabotaged the entry board in our building to continuously beep and cause disturbances to people inside of our apartment if you want to make a lawsuit for us we need you in downtown Toronto. That is if you want to make a class action lawsuit against these people who are causing these problems

Becoming more and more prevalent. Totally unacceptable, but this goof's trying to get desperate votes at this point. "Bad landlords". The amount of work and effort required to be in this business is huge considering the value brought to society, but we're labelled as "bad by the PM. Insulting!

Most landlords look at your credit anyways when you’re renting, so might as well get credit check text landlord protects tenants helps either way and it prevents certain scenarios. Bad actors by damaging their credit it’ll help but it’s a double edge sword but it’s also people that are responsible will have a good. This might help on a car loan or something like that or loans in the future or getting a new place to rent moving expenses. Whatever you make call it in the healthcare systems going I won’t be surprised in 10 to 30 years if we pay for healthcare so you’ll need credit to do that anyways

The reason why we don’t have enough housing is because the past 10 to 20 years governments have build less housing that was needed so no matter if you talk about the conservatives or the liberals or any government in the past they both didn’t do what they’re supposed to doso you do so much and we have an ageing population so we have to bring people over where birth rate is declining year over year. People are having less kids so cost are going up. There’s no easy fix it’s going to take time and lots of it 1030 years to fix the problems.

It’s been 9 years since I last rented, and I paid $775 a month. I bought a house after 9months of renting for $125,000. I genuinely feel bad for the youth growing up today who have to battle high rents. Justin Trudeau has a done a Piss poor job over the last 8+ years and we are just reaping what we sowed. The youth voted this clown in and now they are paying the piper. He’s just doing lip service at this point. I do like the idea that a rent payment goes towards your credit score( maybe I’ll start “charging my 4 kids rent” so they can be building credit while living at home) (even tho I don’t believe In charging them rent if they are actively working towards buying a house/ college/trade school/ dating to find a soul mate) but I agree, a 2 edged sword. Renters usually not always but don’t have the best track record for making payments on time. Pay with a credit card and it’ll help out more towards the credit score than just paying with cash/cheque.

Well exactly, that was my view. Double edged sword for many quite inevitably. Thanks for watching.
