Here in Hamilton the roads are badly designed. So much of the roads are designed for bikes etc of which a tiny fraction of the population uses. The ideologues who designed the roads seem to be making it difficult for cars to get around. The ironic result is that the bikes etc are placed in harm's way because of the unrealistic road design. Also, it wasn't the pandemic that crippled society but demonstrably now we can see by the data that it was the massive incompetence of the government's pandemic response. People have lost confidence in the government and Health Canada. Perhaps this is what the Globalist wanted all along in order to put their reset in place. Do not comply with the next manufactured medical or climate change crisis. They will do it if they can.

With all those housing units and getting more vehicle traffic on those roads what is going to happen when the Government wants to push and try and sell you a electric vehicle by 2035 instead of fuel gasoline. If everyone owns a electric vehicle by 2035 where are they be able to charge their vehicles when there is only street parking available for them where they live?

Happy New Year.. Griffin...Thanks for the great information and current status of the country. You are showing us the truth. In my Neighborhood a lady got robbed at gun point at the ATM for just $ 250. I am glad that you are covering the current reality. This all related to Finance and massive job losses of the country. It's so sad. Where is the real infrastructure and Healthcare. One lane is like no lanes with the massive amount of buildings. Looks like our tax money gone down the toilet. Always enjoy your amazing contents and long standing subscriber. Cheers...!!!

What's with all of the Canada bashing? I've visited many countries and very few are as good as here. I'm older and have seen both good and bad times in Canada. Ontario has made huge investments in infrastructure lately with much of the funding coming from the federal government. Not to get personal but I find the people complaining the most are the ones who are wealthy.

When the 2 most popular parties are both loaded with corrupt officials, you are voting for a wealthy elite, one way or the other. These people don't care about the middle-class, or poor. They are there to maximize profits for a few private interests, and view everyone else as a burden. The LEAST elite party seems to be the NDP. My guess is they would ACTUALLY try to solve all the problems you are describing, instead of creating these situations, to maximize their bottom line. That said, politicians can only do so much.. there's a lot of unethical businesses out there that might sabotage the market completely, if the NDP were to take power. Wouldn't surprise me, at all. The NDP could replace these assholes, but it might take time to tender replacements. To me this seems like the most practical way for Canada to begin seeing improvements.

The current justice system is beyond flawed-completely backward in how it shields criminals while penalizing hardworking, law-abiding citizens. The priorities seem utterly misplaced. If this continues, police forces may soon find themselves underfunded, not because of budget cuts, but because the exodus of taxpayers will leave nothing to sustain them. Allowing repeat offenders to thrive at the expense of contributors to society only accelerates the decay of communities.

Countries rot from the top down. Little wonder that this is where we are after 10 years of our federal government representing supra-national interests over those of every day Canadians. I will absolutely be leaving for good very soon. I'm fortunate to have a business that can be run from anywhere. However, that business requires a supply of Canadian customers who don't spend all day smoking weed and looking for their next handout. I'm genuinely worried that our business model will suffer as more and more people like us head abroad to escape the collapse. We are considering diversifying into other business lines in order to get out ahead of that possibility. I don't even like going out anymore (here in Calgary) as it reminds me of how far we have fallen. Try and get anything done and it is like the third world. I said to my girlfriend today (after waiting 45 minutes to simply drop off a package at FedEx) that if we are going to get third world standards in commerce, healthcare, etc, then we are damn sure going to at least enjoy third world weather to go with it. Here in Calgary we get sh*te weather and sh*te everything else. I would rather be sipping a beer on a beach.

I moved to Taiwan and lived there from 1999 to 2013. Taiwan expanded roads, built bridges, built new hospitals.... the city constantly changes, as they use the tax money to improve quality of living. I've been back in Vancouver from 2013 to 2025. Canada still looks the same, except roads are falling apart, trash between Vancouver and Richmond on the side of the highways, quality of apartments look visibly worse in quality. It's terrible here, and I plan to live in Japan, Korea, and Taiwan in a couple years. Canadians don't fight for their own country because there's so much diversity that no one comes together to protect it. Canada is now always someone else's problem. A sense of pride is gone. No one wants to hold the politicians accountable, unlike in Taiwan, for example. A former president was sentence to prison for many years, and today, another former president is on trial facing up to 25 years. There's more democracy outside of Canada

For 20 years, governments allowed money laundering by fentanyl dealers from China. This is a fact not a racist conspiracy. This is why a house in a working class neighbourhood costs $3,000,000. So Canada had one industry, real estate flipping because other industries were either taxed out of business or moved to Asia. There are a lot of reasons and examples to show people why hiring a high school drama teacher as Prime Minister is a bad idea. Couple that with 2 years of lockdowns and you get Canada. It can’t be fixed and needs to be rebuilt but no politician has the balls to do it because it would require the government to be cut in half as well as taxes.

I don't see a problem with those apartments "character." Go to Europe and Russia, Ukraine and other countries and it looks like zero character and concrete apartments everywhere. I would be more concerned with the number of housing units than the character. I know in the early 80's when the economy was in recession, they decreased the size of houses and all the houses looked the same. People changed up their houses and then 1984 you started seeing houses a lot bigger, double the size and I thought that was so wasteful of resources. I had been reading about how forests were being cut down etc. No one needs such a large house and then you have to pour money into these large houses to maintain them. The size that seems to be the best is actually 1000 sq ft for a 3 child 5 person household. When the feeder streets become too congested , then they should be doubled, but the streets are not the important infrastructure, it is the hydro, water sewer and gas. Those don't need to be doubled. When you double the lanes on a road then these must be maintained and resurfaced ever 10 years of so. Your taxes will go up as you get more infrastructure. So what do you want ? I am in Winnipeg and I watch these public works and it is mind boggling. A major road ,4 lanes was first built about 9 years ago and now they had to resurface it. They also resurfaced the shoulders but they were perfectly fine since no one drives on the shoulder. What a waste. I was going to email my city rep to ask him WTF. The city came out to trim my city tree in my front yard and three people showed up. One guy climbed up the ladder and did the work while the other guy helped put up the ladder and the third was a women and she did nothing. She was some kind of safety lookout incase the first two guys got injured , both at the same time. Next thing they will have 4 people show up and one will stay in the truck and watch incase all three of the others get injured. Often the traffic can also be alleviated by people adjusting there starting and quitting times at work. Only in rush hour is there 1 km of traffic and the rest of the day is OK. So why twin a road for 2 hours of heavy traffic. I know what I would do , is go shopping or arrange my life to avoid the rush hour.

I went to U of O back around 2008. Sad to see whats happened to the Rideau to Byward areas, those were my stomping grounds. Didn't Ottawa have a giant sinkhole open up around the Rideau Centre as well that took years to fix? The only thing I'll say is a lot of those high-rises were around the Rideau, Albert and Metcalfe area in 2010 but they were mostly all expensive condos or business offices.
