Swiss play really hard on the puck, and they're fast at getting back from O zone to defend...Canada had a superior transition game to D to O, but the Swiss get back and into position better than any team I've seen in the tournament and they do it with speed not playing the boring neutral zone trap. They're an exciting team to watch...they don't sit on a lead like some teams I wont mention. They're the Florida Panthers of the tournament: they win puck battles on the boards...they kill you with speed...their star players are playing like...well...stars they are...they block a ton of shots and when Canada got to the net (and they did a lot in the last two periods) they had stellar goaltending. Canada carried the play for 2/3 of the game but they didn't clean looks because they couldn't get separation...there was no open ice in the slot. Bedard has some growing to do...he is simply a liability 5 on 5...but he was in Junior and he is with Chicago as well (he was -50 during the season with the Hawks)...he needs an attitude adjustment...you might be able to get away with that in Junior but not in the NHL or at World Championship level. Maybe he needs to spend the summer at Messier's house to learn about character and hard work. Sure We Could have used a couple game breakers like McKinnon and Makar but the guys executed a solid team effort. I think we might have won it in NHL format OT, but we are always terrible in SO's. I would like to pull for the Swiss to win on Sunday, but I can't...being a Canadian living in Prague for 30 years and a Czech family who would lock me out of the house. Czechs destroyed the Swedes yesterday which was nice to see...and frankly it would be nice for the Czechs to win it at home...their fans have been insane and they want it bad.

Im not sure what you mean by A game?....We played a solid team game...we got better every game...sure we could have used the like of McKinnon or Makar and we are never good in shoot-outs but Canada showed up...and Bedard needs an attitude adjustment...this this and the NHL isn't Junior hockey...he was a complete liability 5 on 5...but he was in Junior and his first season in the NHL. We haven't dominated hockey in a long time...sorry to burst your illusionary bubble.

he's only 182cm short, so that's why he always got overlooked and therefore stayed in the Swiss league. But as a 7 time champion, he seems to know what he's doing - and I do consider him to be within the top 5 keepers that are currently active and playing. It might be time for the NHL scouts and teams to reconsider what it takes to be a great keeper. Size isn't everyting. If you can counterweigh that with speed, mobility and intelligence as well as the ability to read the ice, you got an absolute legend.

Cda has a weak team. Had they played a more bump and grind game, Shero style, they might have won. This Cda team has not the skills to finesse opponents: many chances to score, but no goals. Stupid penalties cost Cda the game. Swiss played a strong game, win deserved.

Dude You know nothing about hockey...We won gold 4 of the previous 8 years without even close to our "A team". And frankly, despite what a lot of Canadians would like to think, we don't own this game...Not a single Canadian player (other maybe Bedard) came here thinking we get a free pass, and we played like that... Swiss are full marks for win and their hockey program...they have been the real deal for a good 10 years now. sure we could have used Makar and McKinnon or a handful of other higher skilled players but this team represented us and themselves well against the top teams (with the exception of maybe Finland) with more talent on the ice. I think it was very good showing...and probably would have won it in NHL format OT...we've always sucked in shoot outs.

Anyway people need to realise that the canadian team(often called teir B team now in many comments I see) still is 100% NHL players, most european nations have less then half of their squad in the nhl, switzerland for example has a total of 7 players(including goalie Akira Schmid) in the NHL. The others play in swiss NL. The players in the NL don‘t hold huge deficits anymore compared to your avg NHL player that is the reason a full NHL squad can loose to them. The NHL still remains the best hockey league in the world but the differences to major european leagues(SHL, NL, Liiga, Extraliga and the KHL) become smaller and smaller every season.
