Back in 1988 I deployed with the Montana National Guard to a location near Lake Koocanusa (Kootenai River, Canada, USA all rolled into one) near Glacier/Waterton National Parks. That was the year Yellowstone burned. The fire I was on was among the most awe inspiring things I've ever seen, heard, smelled and feared. Huge flames flying from tree top to tree top at breakneck speed, burning right down into the forest duff and root systems. While watching your videos, it's been hard to miss seeing all the fuel near you. Last years fires in your neck of the woods rivaled what I saw. Glad to know you came thru unscathed!

I was in Timmins (summer 2019) and had to re-route back around Hwy 144 that was closed as it was a similar scene on the lake I was on for the Gogama fire as they were filling up. Hats off to you ladies and gentlemen that do this. You will never know thanks enough. Much respect

Hey Harlan, is there a link or map anywhere that identifies the 2018 fires of the areas effected inside WCPP?

That is pretty cool. Something that I’ve never seen down here in Southern Appalachia.

Just wondering why they are hitting this fire and let others burn. Is it because it's too large. I'm just curious why they let some burn and some they try to contain. Again another awesome video. I hope to be up there this year or next. Thanks
