If we want to win the fight long term, we win it by bringing more people to our side and by showing them that gun owners are normal people, and responsible gun owners are only a threat to criminals and tyrants. I start by asking them “what’s your plan?”. What are you planning to do when the wolf is at the door. We’re talking between the time it takes to call the police, and when they actually show up? Ask an honest cop and they’ll let you know that you’re on your own until they get there, so what’s your plan? Call and ask the cops what the average response time is where you live, and they’ll give you an idea of what your looking at. I’ll bet you’ll be surprised about how long the average wait time is where you live, but regardless of how long the response time is YOU are always going to be your families 1st responder.

Your statement is very powerful. I have taken many scared and uneducated folks to the range. Once they understand the rules already on the books (pre Trudeau 2) and personal safety, they jump right in! A rifle is like a fast car, all one can do is giggle in enjoyment. Both can be super dangerous but used safely will not hurt a sole. There’s a reason that Canadians are getting there licenses at record numbers, if you don’t use it ya lose it.

It's amazing that something as innocuous, and as clearly intended for self defense as say a 5 shot LCR in 38spl is "prohibited". My suggestion for firearm owners in Canada is stop being so polite, stop playing the game. Resist, don't comply, and if it comes down to it FIGHT!!

That's exactly why its prohibited, carry and self defense are generally not allowed in Canada, in fact many countries do not allow self defense at all. In Australia say you have an intruder break in and you catch him raping your 5 year old and you kill or injure him you will get more time in prison than he does. It's pretty fucked up in alot of other places man. Most people don't realize how unique it is being allowed the freedom to protect yourself let alone all the firearms we have access to here in America. So many nanny state gov'ts out there its insane. The handguns they can have are still restricted, that means they can only be fired at a special range for restricted firearms, not even all gun ranges man. You definitely can't defend your family with it, not legally anyways. They have the "duty to retreat" all they can do is call the RCMP and hope they get there in time. How leftist idiots do mental gymnastics to think that way is beyond me. Here's another example: in New Zealand while that mosque shooting was going on a man grabbed his pistol and stuck it down his pants and went and gathered up children to lead them to safety. He was prosecuted. Their own prime minister cunt, Jacinda or whatever her name is said "that was an inappropriate thing to do". Talking about arming himself to rescue kids during an active shooting.

@Charles King I hope Alberta and Saskatchewan are able to break away and become the 51st and 52nd U.S. states. I also donated to your gun rights group the other day, its called CCRF or something like that. Jist wanted to let you know you guys have brothers to the south rooting for you. If all else fails its great down here in Kentucky. Basically no gun laws outside of the federal ones, constitutional concealed carry (permitless) relatively cheap cost of living, beautiful land, mild weather, cheaper gas than most states etc. We even have pro-gun laws, its illegal for a landlord to prohibit guns and employers must allow employees to keep a firearm in the personal vehicle on the property.

The three countries of North America should be redrawn on the basis of common culture, values, and language, rather than arbitrary historical boundaries that no longer make sense. Much of the US has much more in common with Alberta and Saskathewan, then we do with NYC, Washington DC, Chicago and San Francisco. Instead of the US and Canada, it would make more sense to have two states. One state unified around the principles of liberty, limited government, personal responsibility, the sanctity of individual rights, the English language, and western cultural values and traditions. And a second state based socialism, unlimited centralized governance, the supremacy of collective need, and a complete rejection of western values and traditions, or the very concept of a unified language and culture.

You should also do a final gun laws video where you cover some of the really weird exceptions. Such as short barrel takedown 22LR semi-auto are not restricted. Or the great one where a super short barrel shotgun is non restricted but if you modify an otherwise identical one to a short barrel, that makes it illegal.

I haven't shot a Fostech Origin 12 but my roommate recently bought a Panzer Arms BP12. It's a bullpup box mag fed 12 gauge. I thought it was going to be kind of chincy but it's actually pretty awesome. It had one misfeed on the first mag but has been flawless ever since, we put about 100 rds through it shooting clays. It's so strange, yet awesome shooting clays with a 12 gauge that's only freakin' 30.5" OAL. (~775 mm)

For all it's worth the AR was re classified back in the 70s from non restricted to restricted by Justin's dad, later that was over turned by the attorney general and the AR was put back into the non restricted category. @@Overlord99762 the only thing that changed is that you now need to either be member in a shooting club or prove that you went to the range five times within five years after buying a gun that the EU deems evil. That being semiauto with a mag capacity of more than 10 rounds in rifles and an overall length of less than 60cm , or more than rounds 20 in pistols. The laws for full autos and silencers havent changed at all. Those are called "verbotene waffen" (forbidden weapons), but you just need to say youre a collector, fill out a different form and show that you store them safely. Although by getting that approval you agree to being audited at any time by the police, similar to the FFL in the US

What Canada Needs is More severe Consequences for Gun Crimes, taking the shooters off the streets, out of the communities, and deportations when possible, and Much Tougher Prosecuting Attorneys, with greater "INTEGRITY" as it stands, the prosecuting attorneys give criminal gunmen an option like a game show, offers criminals a get out of jail free card, by offering to allow the criminal gunmen to plea guilty to a much lesser charge, that allows the criminal gunmen to avoid appropriate consequences for the crimes they committed, and when you take into account, the number of criminal gunmen that spend very little if any time behind bars, and off our streets, it craves the possibility that some money may be changing hands??? in my opinion!

All 12 and 10 gauge shotguns manufactured to saami spec are prohibited actually not just those with removable chokes. -Any firearm with a bore diameter of 20 mm or greater - other than one designed exclusively for the purpose of neutralizing explosive devices” The firearms act defines bore as the portion of the barrel in which the projectile passes through. Any portion of the bore 20mm or over will then cause that firearm to be deemed prohibited. The forcing cone bore is part of the overall bore as per definition. The CFP recently “clarified” that shotgun bore is measured as a point after the chamber but before the choke. In a 3” 12 gauge the chamber specs from SAAMI state that the chamber must be 3” long and have a diameter of 20.269mm at the point in which the chamber meets the forcing cone bore. The forcing cone bore is not considered part of the chamber but instead is considered part of the overall bore as it is a portion of the barrel that the shot column passes through. SAAMI spec states all 12 gauge shotgun barrels are to have an inside diameter of 20.269mm at the point in which the chamber meets the legally defined bore therefore all 12 gauge shotguns made to industry standard are over 20mm and prohibited. 10 gauge shotgun barrels are to have an inside diameter of 21.361mm at the junction of chamber and legally defined bore therefore all 10 gauge shotguns made to industry standard are over 20mm and prohibited. Furthermore SAAMI allows for .51mm of overbore in regards to the portion of bore after the forcing cone and before the choke, standard SAAMI spec for 10 gauge bore diameter after the forcing cone is 19.69mm-20.2mm meaning that forcing cone bore aside there are still 10 gauges manufactured within SAAMI specs whose bore is over 20mm.

Actually for a handgun (or compact rifle/shotgun) to be restricted, it not just needs to have a shorter than 470mm barrel and be semi-automatic but also have a center-fire cardrigde. Also any repeating gun that still is more powerful than 10,000 joules (among other criteria) is prohibited. But in general the video is good.

Very informative video i learned a lot.. I have 4 follow up questions though.. 1. I know for pumps and lever action and bolt barrel length doesnt seem to matter.. They are all non restricted (I know for instance the Remington 870 entry gun with its 14" barrel is a popular choice) I was wondering if that holds through for Semi Auto Shotguns as well or if Semi Auto Shotguns have to be 18.5 inch barrel to be not restricted.. 2. In the US for a Rifle 16" inch the minimum barrel length to not be a SBR.. But alot of people cut down their barrel to 13.7" or 14" or 14" and Pin and weld a muzzle device to make the overall barrel length still 16" but it cuts off a couple of inches of overall length on the gun.. Is that allowed in Canada? Can you pin and weld? 3. With the new gun control law going into effect and them making the AR15 and it's variants as well as the Sig 550 series Prohibited is your Famae rifle not prohibited since its a version of the Sig 540 which is close to the Sig 550? 4. Even though the Mag limit for rifles is 5 rounds in Canada .. I have often seen you and other Canadian shooters use 10 round mags because they are "handgun" mags.. Are all those type of mags properly marked in Canada or you just have to hope the police know their shit and believe you that they were designed for a "handgun" if you ever have to prove it to them? Also are 10 round .308 "handgun" mags common? I have also heard that Canadians are using .458 socom marked mags and loading 15 rounds of .223 in them and its perfectly legal, do you have any insight on this and do you foresee a "handgun" .458 socom mag in the future so that Canadians could have full 30 round .223 mags?

Traffic violations are usually not crimes. He’s referring to anything under the criminal code of Canada, speeding isn’t a crime per sae, but if you decide to drive impaired you can kiss your guns goodbye.

It's almost as if you need to be a lawyer to even be a gun owner in Canada. Well , close to it A straight pull action AR15/10 could be a Canadian only market. Should someone do the conversion. A real wacky way to do it is to have an AR10 with a revolving cylinder and using 308 speed loaders. That would require some innovation. Kind of like in Borderlands the game. You could even have a pump action AR15/10. A hybrid of the 870 shotgun and AR15/10 into one. These would require a large business to do that. Major logistics

Or just use a WK180C and such. A modern semiautomatic improvement on Eugene Stoner's AR 18. (He made the AR 18 as an M16 alternative) Same caliber as the AR 15, uses stamped aluniminium like the AR 15, even takes AR 15 mags, but it was never used by a mean person in a movie. So it is totally nonrestricted in Canada. The only advantage to our weird hodge podge gunlaws up in Canada is that our elected law makers can't even keep track of them, so we still have some modern fire arms that fall through the cracks and we can still use.

Yes and no. Our laws are so odd that even black powder, flintlock, muzzle loading pistols are restricted, however some hand guns made in and before the 1890s have special antique status and are not restricted.

You can’t really. Your only options really for getting a prohibited PAL is are becoming a manufacturer like Colt Canada, being on a movie set (even then you have to rig the firearm so it can’t fire a projectile), or some private security firms are allowed to have them.
