I was a boy evacuated from London .the Canadian soldiers were so good to the local children.they were stationed at Whitley camp.they would give us sweets chocolate and Canadian stamps. On d day I saw them leave the camp and were in their tanks lined up in the road where I lived going down to Milford station where they were getting on trains for the south coast. They were throwing sweets and chocolate from their lorries and even gave my mother tins of corned beef .at Christmas they would collect children from the local schools and take us to the camp for Christmas party.I am an old man now but I have told my child and grand children how nice the were and so brave and nice.Thank you Canada

I immensely respect both of these men. Thankyou for protecting us and giving us Canadians a better life. :) I would honestly sit with them for hours and listen to their stories :P

A Briton here - the thanks I give to these men and their companions for the sacrifices they made in defending the cause and serving their Empire will never be enough. We owe them so much, we Brits are so proud to have you as our brother, Canada, so raise a flag and raise the Canadian Red Ensign! God Save our Queen and heaven bless

Thank you for posting. My grandparents (Oma and Opa) from NL emigrated to Canada and quietly made a visit to Sunnybrook to give tulips to the Veterans who Liberated their country, and the country of my birth. I know that many veterans may wonder was it worth it. My only answer, you will never be forgotten. Your legacy lives on. I will teach my children of the price of freedom. Thank you and much respect.
