As for that first dopey news crew being so surprised we knew the words to the US national anthem, you're idiots. This was at a sporting event where you very often hear both anthems before the game, more so with hockey. So after watching sports for a few years we hear the US anthem so often it's almost impossible not to know it, I am sure it's the same for most American hockey fans.

We learned the lyrics in French and English when I was in elementary school in West Virginia. I can still remember the words although I can't guarantee the French will be correct. It will be sung in good faith and earnest. Thank you Canada and can't wait to visit you again.

I was there, our section started singing when the singers mic went out. Every sports fine in Canada has grown up watching, NBA, NFL, MLB and we know the words to the Star Spangled Banner as well as any American.

When it comes to Hockey hearing the American Anthem is just as common as hearing our own. Every Canadian sports fan knows every word of America's Anthem I assume. 🇨🇦🇺🇸😎👍

Any true hockey fan knows both the Canadian & American National Anthems. Cause if you’ve been to enough hockey games, you’ve heard both anthems played & can sing em by heart.
