74,000 Fans Sing National Anthem After Mic Cuts Out

Watch as the 74,000 fans sings the National Anthem after the microphone cuts out, at the Inaugural Home Match at Bank of America Stadium.
Fans started singing the American National Anthem, just before the inaugural home soccer match of Charlotte FC vs LA Galaxy, on Saturday March 5th 2022, just after singer Michelle Brooks-Thompson’s microphone cuts out.
If you've ever wanted to know what a packed stadium of over 74,000 people singing the national anthem sounds like, then here's your chance.
Charlotte FC had sold roughly 73,500 tickets for Saturday, and before the game got underway, the team revealed they had broken the MLS record with 74,479 fans in attendance.
"The Voice" winner Michelle Brooks-Thompson, has so much experience doing pregame anthems. She’s one of the areas best and has performed for the NBA, MLB, and more. However, she had never sung in front of a crowd this big. She didn’t have an amplifier for the majority of the song, which was a first for the singer as well. Thankfully, the Charlotte faithful had her back.
This has happened before at other events, but when you get 74 thousand people singing a song together, especially one that means so much to so many, it makes for a special moment.

Crowds singing are the best on many levels. All the different ranges and off tone voices making it sound better. The fact that this many people can work together in harmony to accomplish a common goal. The feeling the writer of the song must get when people sing it back to them. (Obviously not in this video)
