Nigel get Roy chubby brown on please. He has been completely cancelled by Sheffield woke county council. And we want him back!

Roy isn't used to being on TV due to his act Can he be trusted not to swear?
@stevec64272 жыл бұрын
He was banned from tv because he kept swearing. also, he's been using the same jokes for 40 years. Jokes are only funny when you don't know the punch line, greatest hits don't work in comedy

@@retrorambles517 Chubby Brown is just an Act... if youve met him off stage, hes not only the nicest bloke, but doesnt swear off stage. Its all his act. Would love to see him on here

If cancel culture existed in the 70s and 80s, Bernard Manning, Frank Carson, Bobby Davro, Freddie Starr and all the other comedians I grew up watching would never have had careers. After the Chris Rock and Dave Chapelle incidents recently, being a comedian is a dangerous profession these days.

'Taking offence' is 100% invalid. Because to take offence is a conscious CHOICE. You have to DECIDE to be offended. You could just as easily have DECIDED not to be offended. The fact that you had to think about it and make a choice means the problem is inside your own head. You have deliberately chosen to be offended and therefore the targeted 'offensiveness' is non-existent and completely invalid.

I remember back in the 1990s when Bobby Davro was on TV and I was a teenager. One day another teenager made a joke about me to my face. I didn't feel offended and no one else around us found it funny. I then replied 'well obviously you must have gone to the Bobby Davro school of comedy', to which everyone around us found it hilarious and burst out laughing. This is honestly a true story.

People forget that discrimination works both ways. Discrimininating against people for their opinions comes under the umbrella of bigotry. People whose free speech is being suppressed should remember this. They are being discriminated against by a form of social and individual bigotry. It is a travesty that an Act exists called 'qualified rights'. And what this Act means is that you have freedom of speech unless your speech offends someone. Which means in fact, you do not have free speech at all. If you limited something even a little bit, then it is no longer free. It's like saying this item is free but it'll only cost you 5p. It's an oxymoron. It is worth bearing in mind though that 'qualified rights' is only an Act and not an actual law, the reason being because passing it into law is a risk since it completely infringes upon our supposedly UNALIENABLE rights under natural law.

Just watched another film star talking about what his been in, and it seems that East Enders takes on many famous people and I believe that’s because of their crap ratings. The original East Enders didn’t need to take on more famous people at the time because it was so popular. Until too many good ones left.

Bobby Davro wasn’t cancelled. He just wasn’t that funny. He could a cracking impression of Zippy and George - as could about half a dozen kids in every 80s school playground, up and down the country. There’s a little problem with this ‘cancel culture’ straw man. Is it forgets, that you can have all the anti woke jokes in your armour, but when you’ve shocked once, you can’t do it again. Because even your most politically incorrect audience, doesn’t find the same joke funny ten times. And if they do, they’re fibbing. Moving on with your material, isn’t a ‘woke conspiracy’, it’s just that the most effective comedians, learn to reinvent themselves. A lot of comedians who cry they’ve been cancelled, haven’t done that. They’ll tell the same jokes, and find at every gig, they’ve an ever diminishing audience.
