Lovett is so quick on his feet. You can literally throw anything at him and he's ready to turn it into a catch phrase or something and run with it. ^^

The ACA was a great first step but now it's time to pull out the stops. Why shouldn't we have the healthcare our congress critters enjoy? WE ARE PAYING FOR IT! Medicare For All is the answer!

I don’t appreciate the ageism here. I am 73 yrs old. I was a mom who raised 2 children with my own manual labor. I never was able to afford health insurance but I was lucky as there were numerous clinics and programs funded by medicaid before all the cut backs. I now have Ss and medicare for the first time in my life. I did pay into ss as does everyone and I do care that it will be there for my children. What I am trying to say here is that I take great offense when listening to a group of young people, that I admire BTW, who none the less seem to think that all older people are a bunch of goons or something. I think that the burden that would be on my children’s’ shoulders esp. the end of life medical burden, If I did not have medicare, would be unbearable for them. Or the alternative would be for me to disappear so they could be relieved of the burden. Don’t forget.... we are not all idiots - we were a stand up generation back in the 60’s. We took some pretty hard hits and we deserve credit for it. Stop bashing older people on mass. You will be old someday if you are lucky and it is not for sissies believe me. The one woman who is sitting in the group of you would not be there either, if not for the feminists of my generation.

Surely they don't peddle ageism here. If your country had had Medicare for all or universal health then you would have been covered from the cradle to the grave. I hope you guys FINALLY come to your senses and take of all Americans.

Geir Alstad I don’t think they are conscious of their ageism and that’s why I posted. I hear it all the time from younger generations with whom I agree on most things. They seem to think we are all idiots, voted for Trump and they don’t give us credit for the role we played in progressivism. We protested the Vietnam war intensely, putting our bodies on the line, hugely supported the civil rights movement, explored numerous new ideas and were ardent feminists. They have no idea what it was like back in the days before Roe and the battles we had to fight in order for women to have a modicum of freedom now. It seems to be taken for granted. There is a huge amount of work still on our plate. At the last protest against the border issues the people who attended were of all ages and in my opinion more of them were closer to my age than younger ones, so that whole conversation these guys (whom I admire and listen to BTW ) mocking older people, was offensive to me.

I hear you. I am not older, but I always feel slightly weird when they go off on this tangent, because it feels on the wrong side of mean for me. Like, I get the points, which is that older people as a demographic lean conservative and drive in frustrating ways, but it just feels, to me, unnecessarily hostile and I don't like it. My brain is just interpreting it as a series of insults, and it's uncomfortable. So we're just mocking old people. Feels shitty. idk maybe I'm too sensitive

I'm an "old person" that just discovered your podcast. After a long conversation with my highly intelligent adult child about how we boomers ****** up everything and now listening to these guys lump us all together is hypocritical. Maybe out of the 8 or 9 clips I'm bingeing on, I missed the rants towards all the non-voting youngers. I'll keep listening but if you keep it up, you stop being part of the solution. That large percentage of us that are progressive, that have voted Dem in every election, that you see volunteering at phone banks and at demonstrations are going to get tired of the boomer-bashing. Listen to yourselves and admit your own prejudice.

I wonder if any of you ever listen to some of George Carlin's stand-up comedy? His best stuff was when he was in his 70's and older. You need to remember that you may be smart, but you don't have to be smart-asses.
