I am glad Emily is getting therapy and that you and your wife are taking her pain seriously. Not all parents get it, and it causes wounds that never really heal for some. And as far as Mark, consider it you are deciding not to waste your money on a lost cause. I am forever amazed how the most heartless, cruel people are constantly given chance after chance and never get called out or punished for their terrible behavior. If anything they seem to be the people who end up living a golden life with all of their flaws overlooked and with money, power, and attention lavished on them. I stayed friends with him and that made her very angry thinking I was trying to make a move on him. She started a horrible rumor that I let her ex and a bunch of other boys do things to me at a party which was completely untrue, I wasn’t even there at said party. It destroyed my high school experience. I am in my 40’s and I still think about it and I think it still messes me up to a degree because if that had not happened I think the trajectory of my life would have been different. No, your nephew needs to realize what he's done, maybe do the same to him. He does not get the money for college until he apologizes.

Yeah no after specifically telling them not to post I'd cut off school funding utterly and completely, and when her complaints start my response would be "No one held a gun to your son's head to force him to put those pictures everywhere his choice has consequences just be grateful those consequences are financial and not physical cause I want to shatter the bones in his hands but his victim convinced me just to take the college fund instead"

Do you remember the time when I promised that I would pay your college tuition? It's a prank!

If you paid that school fee, then the cousin will feel entitled to continue doing this for the rest of his life.

The only fitting ending for the story is for James to divorce Lucy and stay friends with OP

OP was really trying hard to help Mark, and it's like he turned his nose up to him😢. Mark got what he deserved. OP, I'm thinking about your daughter.

If James, Mark's father, also felt he behaved badly, then OP and his daughter didn't overreact.

Seeing how malicious op's sister is, I can see where his nephew gets it from, his mother. To bad mouth only makes enforces that she's burning the bridge between her and op plus not getting the money for her son. She's not even punishing her son instead gets mad at op. It's also sickening how she encouraged her son to post the pictures after op didn't give into her demands.

OP needs to help James to divorce his entitled wife and disown his evil son. Let them work for a living.

The reason they didn’t get along was because mark was jealous.

Skip the apology and cut them off.

No genuine apology is ever followed up with a deliberate repeat of the same hurtful behavior. That manipulative little 💩 clearly only put on an act; saying whatever he needed to in order to get his way, and probably conspired with his mother to do it 🤬

It's crazy how people will disrespect you and your loved ones and still expect to gain financially from you. Good on OP for protecting his girl and cutting off his ungrateful/entitled sister and son
